The Whinlatter Go Ape is almost brand new and is a good couple of hours entertainment but isn't cheap at £25. It's a high ropes obstacle course taking you from tree to tree through the forest across rope bridges and zip wires.
It starts with about half an hour of safety instructions and a chance to practice with staff watching your every move so there is no need to worry about not knowing how to clip on your safety harness, and it would be difficult to make a mistake as there's a reminder diagram at each new obstacle.
It's a good adventure especially for kids and I think the zip slides and tarzan swing are exciting for anyone - but if you're not scared of heights and are reasonably active then it won't be that gripping as the obstacles are all fairly easily negotiated.
Book ahead and try to go at the end of the day or when it's raining (you don't feel it that much cos you're under the trees) because it'll be a lot quieter and hopefully you won't have to queue too long between sections. read more
