I think I am cursed to have my workplace located in Herlev…read more
Don't get me wrong, the kommune / municipality / town seems pleasant enough. Cute little shops lining Herlev Torv, the mini Strøget with ok-sized "mall" (the quote marks are very important here) called Herlev Bymidte, but the station - oh my.
The station is not located anywhere near the town center for one. It's located in an odd deserted place surrounded by glassy office buildings and a warehouse Lidl supermarket and it's very bare equipped.
You have to walk down the steps to go down the station and get up again to go to the platform. It does not make any sense. You can't even take the elevator to the platform level - I feel sorry for all the moms with their prams and old folks with their rollators, and the cyclists on the S-tog. Man, you make people's lives miserable in Herlev, DSB.
Fortunately, I am neither of those, so I could still dutifully walk down the station and resurface to the platform. No biggie, but think of those who can't.
...and there's that odd little shop on platform level. Why not have the obligatory 7-eleven there instead? That case, people can get snacks and drinks without having to worry that they will miss the train.
...and whoever it was planned the bus / train schedule? It's a total FAIL. The buses always align at the station when the train is there, hence we can't catch the train and have to wait for the next one (unless you can fly over to the platform like some superheroes).
Meh.
