But the icing piped near the top's edges as well as around the bottom part of the cake went hard after placing it in the fridge and detached from the cake. The cake ended up looking like a wreck and it was for a birthday. I literally picked up the icing with my fingers and tried my best to make the cake look decent. Sigh... Please note that the cake was only picked up in the morning and served in the evening. The cake looked good when it was picked up but who knew that the icing could go hard, move around and fall off the cake? CUSTOMER SERVICE: 1/5 (Worst ever) - Hope that nothing goes wrong with your cake that will warrant a feedback or complaint because I think the company's definition of customer service is by wearing you down with explanations (including scientific ones. LOL) as to why it was not their fault, providing you with their T&Cs and reasons for not compensating you, and letting you know that "It's just becoming so hard because you are not accepting our explanation and effort to settle this." I guess for them, the best way to settle things with their customer is to bombard them with emails and explanations on how it's not the company's fault. I sent 3 emails regarding this including a picture of the cake but I received 6 emails from them, all with very similar messages. They claimed they were genuinely sorry that this happened to the cake as it has never happened before but didn't want to wear any responsibility or provide any sort of compensation. Please note that I was never rude (just a bit direct in my latter emails out of frustration, and even apologised for it) and NEVER once stated in the emails that I wanted compensation because I wanted to leave that offer with them as a gesture of good will. To be honest, if I felt they were genuinely sorry and they offered me a slice of cake and tea in their cafe or a $10 voucher or even a discount voucher for next cake purchase (anything really), I would have been fine. But hey, as they said to me verbatim "We value all our customers but we are aware not all can be pleased... If you don't want to give us a pass on this..." I'm sorry but I don't.
