I waited about a year to post this review because sometimes businesses start off great when you're new, but then the quality drops off once you're a regular. Not Glo! The staff has consistently been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. For some reason, I can never remember which bed level is which, but they never get annoyed or impatient--they always help me figure out exactly what I need. One of the things I appreciate most is that they're not pushy with upselling, which was a major turn-off at other salons. Here, it truly feels like they just want to help you achieve the results you're looking for. The vibe of the place is also a win: clean, beachy, and glam with a posh touch. I LOVE Glo Station! I live a block away and during the summer it's my go-to to get my tan base on in May! I always get the unlimited month for the StandUp Bed and it never disappoints! I just moved to San Francisco last month, but still work in Sacramento full time and this tanning salon has been my go-to over Bay Area Tanners. Raquel, the lead consultant... has this place super clean and that's really what I like about it. It's not just the machines being wiped down after each wash, but she's also mopping the floors and wiping the walls constantly. I'm not going to call myself high maintenance, but I highly appreciate that Raquel watches and hangs out with my French Bulldog while I'm tanning. Under the last ownership, they weren't as pet friendly. But I don't have a whole lot of friends and when I come in evenings right before close.. I feel bad sometimes cause I'll go days without physically speaking to anyone and she doesn't jam me up about being too late at 8:49. So I promise I'll never do that again. And thanks Raquel. After obviously being a long time client you can see my previous review was from over 5yrs ago. Service has gone way downhill! If you purchase a prepaid package and aren't one of her consistent every week clients you are simply treated like garbage! I booked a 4:25 appt to use one of my many prepaid services i have left on my account which the owner has to review and confirm and she did. I arrived at 4:15 standing outside and the salon door was locked. There was another lady standing there smoking a cigarette with a cane in her hand. There was a sign hanging that said in a spray session be back at 4:30. I am a mom of 3 and fit in my self care after work and before daycare closes which Ashley showed zero respect to today. I still returned to my car and waited until 4:30 my car was parked along K st and i couldn't visibly see her salon door from where i was parked. I walked back to her salon at 4:30 and the sign now said be back at 4:50 door still locked! I messaged her on Instagram at 4:31pm to say i couldn't wait any longer. I had to drive to Folsom and pick up my son from daycare. I was charged a $25 fee and sent a string of obscene messages blaming me for not knowing her new operating procedures. This used to be a staffed walk in location with business hours but now she has no staff, works alone and keeps the door locked and didn't update her clients of this change. Karma doesn't skip anybody! I'll never return here for services. Money and time wasted. Arguing with your clients and lying to attempt to protect your reputation is classless. There are previous complaints of this same behavior below. Claiming to have time stamped camera footage on every occurrence let's see it then! Why would someone book a service to sit outside and purposely miss their appointment they arrived early to? Your responses on yelp alone scream unprofessional liar! read more

First of all, the staff were so kind and did not try and upsell me on expensive packages - this is the number one most important factor to me in a business that sells packages as I know what I'm willing to spend and I expect that to be respected. Quality people and Upgraded beds. After going for two years, in December 2020 the tanning salon closed. I looked into other salons, nothing was a fit. I needed something in midtown. When re-opening as Glo Station, it felt like a black cloud had lifted and positive energy filled the place. Both Ashley's and Jenny bring good vibes. The best beds from before remain. Ashley invested in top of the line brand beds that are significantly better than before. Glo Station Tanning is a huge success and will only keep glowing brighter. At the end of the day if all tanning salons were equal, I would go to the one with the best people. No question about the friendly attitudes and value adding service. Adding reverse osmosis filtered cold water was a thoughtful touch. Pricing is the same as before. She could charge more with the new upgrades but keeps it reasonable.
