In these perimenopause years, it's important for women to invest in taking care of themselves. I've been seeing Maria once a month for a DMK facial over the past year and my skin is looking better than ever! Over this summer, I've been working with Maria on endospheres treatments so I can look my best in a bikini for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. Let me tell you, this treatment is transformative! I've always been good about working out and eating healthy, but recently have been battling with bloat and water retention due to changing hormone levels. After two treatments, I was down 5 pounds in water weight and after two months of treatments my legs, hips, butt and stomach are looking better that ever! I can wear short shorts and sit in a chair without being embarrassed about cellulite or little spider veins. If you have a tropical trip, wedding, honeymoon or big event coming up where you want to look and feel your best.... make an appointment with Maria! She will have your skin glowing after a facial, your body looking firm and healthy with endorspheres treatments and you can top it all off with a golden tan if you really want to shine! For the first two visits, he was moving in the right direction with my hair -- I asked him to highlight my hair and help me blend it with the silver/gray growing in, toning everything ashy. After the first visit, my hair started to get brassy. He toned it between visits. After the second visit, he added some more highlights and did a better job toning out the brassiness and moving toward ash. On the third visit, I told him we were close and I just wanted some low lights on the silver roots growing in to blend things better, and also to continue toning everything a grayer/ashier color. When he was done, I was a full brunette again. He dyed right over the highlights he had previously put in. I was stunned. In follow-up text messages, he dug his heels in and said he did exactly what I asked. In what world, would I want a stylist to undo all the work (not to mention, damage) of lightening my hair in an effort to adapt to my natural silvering hair? His solution was "go swimming a couple of times and some of the highlights are going to start to show." He later said that the dyes he used are made to wash out within 20-26 washes. So, I paid him $160 for a job that was just going to wash out? I could've done that myself. Avoid Kevin Matthews, he has no interest in hearing what you want done with your hair. And if he makes a mistake, he has no interest in owning it. As for the Face & Body Emporium... the manager spoke with him, but because he's an independent contractor, they have no recourse to support their customers. I had a really wonderful experience. The tan looked amazing (a gorgeous olive tone-NOT ORANGE) and Ashley was able to teach me so much about sunless tanning through our appointment. I learned that it is completely normal for the spray to not look perfect right away, and that it needs 12 hours to process and even out. After the 12 hours I was SHOCKED how even and natural it looked!! Ashley is incredibly professional and was very patient as I had a hard time finding the location at first. She helped me and was texting me until I arrived. She just made me feel REALLY comfortable. And to me, that made the experience unforgettable. Can't wait for my next spray!!!!! read more
