Like others have said, this is very different experience from what it used to be. I grew up going here and remember it fondly. I haven't been in probably a decade, so not sure when it started going downhill. My toddler had a great time seeing the light displays, but I personally felt very disappointed in the event as a whole. We expected to get some dinner from a food truck, and a few fun treats. The only food vendors were a few people at tables selling tamales, hot cocoa from a Gatorade jug, and the like. Might've tasted great, idk, but was not what we had in mind. There are no longer interesting booths with Christmas gifts from local artisans, no performances, or any of the special aspects I remember. It really is just a light display now, which I did think was fun and pretty, but definitely not an event. The saving grace was Packer Family Ice Cream, a small business tucked away on the outskirts of Catlin Court. They had an adorable light display all over the historic house and the courtyard. They had charming little activities set up for young kids, and even fake snow from a snow machine that went off occasionally. Their ice cream was great, and we had the most fun letting our toddler run around and enjoy their holiday setup.

A ghost of Christmas past is the current Glendale Glitters this year. A meager light display with hardly any businesses participating. The street food had a run-down feel and look to it, so we didn't stay very long bah humbug we got Scrooged!

IT'S FREE. You can't beat free.99 lol so therefore, it's a small area. I'd say a block of walking. Plus free parking in the parking garage too! There were a lot of vendors and food trucks there when we went on a Saturday. Saw one Santa there for photo ops (picture fee) They had a good amount of lights displayed. Was only there for I'd say 20 minutes but it was enough to get my niece excited and feel the Christmas spirit.

I have been going to Glendale Glitters since I was a kid. The lights, vendors, shows there is so much to look at. We parked at GCC and took the free shuttle to Glendale Glitters. The shuttle drops you off at 59th and Myrtle and there is no fee for parking and no worrying about finding a spot. It was nice to walk through the businesses and enjoy the lights along the way. There was plenty of police so I felt secure. There were lots of different food vendors and things to buy. There was also an area with "snow", there were rides that you could buy tickets for. The lines were ridiculous though. Long to buy the tickets and another long line to stand in to ride the ride. It was very busy tonight and you were pretty much staring at the back of someone's head walking like a herd of cattle through the place. That would be my only complaint for the event. With that being said I know we will be back next year though. :)

I have loved going to Glendale glitters over the years honestly this year something seems off, the streets and trees were decorated with lights There were a few photo ops and one or two vendors at most (nothing to eat) The festival is usually full of things to do for adults and kids alike I went twice even on the weekend but it wasn't like the other years All the surrounding stores were closed Really disappointed I hope they do better next year Happy holidays Cheers!

Returned after a few years and this year things just did not seem the same with the lights. They either lost a few trees or trimmed a few trees because it wasn't as bright as I could recall. Some trees were clearly missing and only a few really were nice. Not much else really go on, but it was crowded on a Saturday night. The antique shops are always an option, but school age dancers were dull, no entertainment and nowhere to grab a quick bite on the streets.

It was cute and quaint. I don't know that I would drive out of my way for it, but it was a nice way to spend the evening.

I didn't think it was worth the drive. There weren't that many lights. We couldn't believe how few after all the hype we read about online.

On the West patio, live music, and on the East patio, wine tasting. Inside were all of the chocolate and sweet vendors. Our favorites we purchased from were the Coconut Lime Fudge from Timoteo's Spice Co (from Surprise, AZ), and Earl Grey Blueberry Jam & Fig-Pomegranate Spread Jam from Periodyc Baker (from Peoria, AZ). Another great vendor was a Costa Rican couple who run a coffee shop (Cortez Coffee Roasters in Tempe, AZ) and a chocolate company (Midge Chocolate Co). They had real cocoa pods which were massive that you could touch, and you could try samples of their chocolate and of their coffee. I plan on visiting their coffee shop very soon, their chocolate was also the best at the event! Admission is free. Take your time browsing all of the vendors, then when you find some goodies, take a seat outside to enjoy them with the live music. Also, bring cash! For parking, there is a free parking garage nearby and street parking too.

Food trucks and vendors outside of the civic center and then vendors inside. It's not just chocolate vendors inside which would make sense so the chocolate doesn't melt, it's solar, window treatments, realtors, etc. There are WAY TOO MANY vendors in that tiny room. There is absolutely no room to walk around comfortably and actually look at what anyone was offering. And of course there are strollers, wheelchairs and wagons to navigate through. People stop at a vendor table and then hold up the whole line of people trying to walk down the aisles. Please work on your logistics. This was not a fun event to attend, we didn't even stay for 30 minutes. Don't advertise this as a Chocolate Affair. It is anything but.

We (Yelp Elite) met the coordinator in order to listen to information on directions on how to sample food vendors and vote. It was put simply that there were three lines per vendor and that we could get samples by simply letting the vendors know we were guest judges. We then would vote on our favorite vendors and submit our results after all the given tickets were used up. The event was simply put as horrible and highly unorganized. Most vendors were unprofessional in denying such line for samples or didn't participate in the "contest". Besides that, there was not as many vendors as advertised and seemed to be a bait for a higher turn out for the festival. Also, it's staff did not contain enough knowledge to direct us anywhere or about anything related to the event. It was a mess. I do have to mention that The Panini Guys and Longhorn Steakhouse were the only vendors who participated in the sampling as well as showing some form of respect towards us judges. As mentioned before, most vendors were unprofessional in their responses and condescending. Poorly coordinated, planned and lacked in many aspects. Probably the saddest excuse for something they call a Street Food Festival. Many other guests who had purchased VIP wristbands realized they paid more for nothing VIP and that it was overheard that many wanted refunds for their tickets. Let's just say, I will not be returning- even if offered as a guest judge.

As a yelp judge for this event, I had an okay experience because I was sampling for free and was…read moresometimes given the chance to cut the long lines to sample. Also, having not attended any yelp elite related events, I had minimal to zero expectations. However, if I was not a yelp elite and had decided to attend the event and purchase a food pass, I would have been so upset. First of all, the sizes of the food samples were extremely tiny - oftentimes the size of my two thumbs. The price of the food definitely did not justify the quantity that customers were given. For the "Foodie Pass" tasting option, $28 gives you 10 tickets - that's an average of $2.80 I could have paid and actually what others were paying for very small portions. An hour after the festival had begun, vendors were beginning to run out of samples and even dishes and cups to put the samples in. Furthermore, there was supposed to be three lines at each vendor, to differentiate between people getting samples, actual food, or express, but more often than not, there was just one long line. That was really silly. I think the lack of communication amongst the event organizers, volunteer staff, vendors, and festival goers was a big issue. So, with the judging, yelpers weren't informed about where to meet initially, that we would be taped, and that even though the event organizer told us to cut the line, some vendors wouldn't let us do so. The event website was definitely misleading. Overall, it was a bit of a mess.

The music, the food, and the culture are amazing each time we go. Parking is pretty easy - just find a spot not blocking a driveway in the neighborhood or park at a designated place and ride a shuttle to the church. The main stage is terrific for the musical numbers, and we love the variety of the troupes that come to perform here. Saturdays are typically 10AM-8PM and Sundays are a bit shorter from 10AM-4PM. There is a raffle for numerous prizes and tickets are on sale all day Saturday and Sunday usually until 2 or 2:15 when the drawings happen. We usually buy several raffle tickets but have not been lucky enough to win any of the prizes yet. One favorite part of the annual festival is the combination plate which you can get by paying for food tickets and exchanging those for delicious food. Sausage, cabbage roll, pirogis, and a potato pancake? Yes please. So good. The dates for the festival change each year based on when Lent and Easter are each year. Next year, the festival takes place on April 10-11, 2027. Mark your calendars now.

The festival was set up like a MINI Renaissance Fair. Some vender's and Fair kind of foods like turkey legs, hot dogs, some BBQ shaved iced and Ice cream. I tried the Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream from Karen's Creamery and didn't like it but her chocolate flavor taste natural. The pie eating contest was mildly entertaining and the habenero was a little more interesting. I think the pie contest winner won some free sodas but the habenero winner won $50.00. I noticed the pie eating contestants took home their eaten pies. I thought water should have been sold in more places and they didn't provide enough seating area as I wasn't able to get a seat to any show I saw so I wasn't able to get good photos because I'm short and had to stand behind seated people. The ground is very uneven and might give some people trouble but I noticed some handicapped people doing OK. A mildly entertaining day out! This Festival ran Three Days Friday - Sunday.
