Fiona & Arnaud are the perfect hosts, and were a good source of information on things to do in the area. They went out of their way to have breakfast ready for us a little earlier one day as we had a flight that morning to the Isles of Scilly. Internet was a little spotty sometimes, but workable. And the breakfast! You can have a traditional English fry-up, but there are so many other options as well. We loved the pancakes with fresh fruit and the warm baguettes. It was a perfect fusion of English & continental cuisine. I'd return to Penzance just to stay at the Blue Seas.

The first thing we noticed was how elegant the building was, with stylish interior decoration and high ceilings proving a lot of light in the rooms. It is located a stone's throw away from the sea, which you can view from some bedrooms. We were offered rather nice coffee on our arrival along with freshly baked homemade scones, then relaxed in the front room where there was a computer if we needed (WiFi provided throughout the hotel). The couple who run it were fantastic; very friendly and helpful with any queries, and there was a printed guide in our room complete with local restaurant menus in it (we'd recommend the Navy Inn). They also happen to produce AMAZING breakfasts. And a great choice of coffee. They are also a certified Green Business, and food and toiletries are sourced locally. It made for a quality stay in the centre of Penzance; we'd recommend this hotel to anyone!

Many of the pictures really moved me and I come back to see them again each and every time I am in Penzance. There is a good shop, too, and a lovely tea room. Penlee Park is worth a visit as well. Management didn't refund our money for the previous nights, but didn't dispute our claims or make us pay for the night we left at 2am either. They said they'd be hiring experts to come clean the bedbugs out, but until that happens I can't recommend this place to anyone. Should the bedbugs be removed- Great location and friendly efficient service. Only on street parking. The price was expensive for the below average furnishings- but not for the location to Penzance city center. We had a broken towel hook, paintings hung randomly, a random selection of furniture, and a bit worn out curtains etc. But everything seemed clean and well maintained (except for the beg bugs). We got a map on arrival with good restaurants and sights circled for us, and that was very helpful. The food recommendations were also good. The breakfast was cold cereal, fruit, and toast. This was "served" via a refrigerator in the room (light sleepers would not like the cycling of the coolant pump). Tea and instant coffee were also provided (toaster and microwave were also provided in the room). Good for if you want breakfast anytime or want to sleep in, bad if you want a nice breakfast.

My room was small but pleasant and served my needs. Simon is an excellent host and makes sure that everything is to your liking. The breakfast was filling and tasty and cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that the WiFi signal tends to be a bit hit and miss, I shall certainly stay at Con Amore if I ever go back to Penzance.
