Surprise, surprise. Another cafe and delicatessen on Glebe Point Road...that's called Glebe Deli Café. Don't let the generic name make you think that the food is unimpressive or that the coffee is subpar. Both are actually quite good. This is a family restaurant that feels very local. At times, it's so quiet, it's like you're a guest in someone's living room.
Everything here is sensibly priced, and portions are pretty good for what you pay. For breakfast, you need not even look at the menu since there's everything you'd expect to find, from eggs, to toasts, to yogurt. There's a ham and cheese croissant that's I'd recommend. Or if you're in the mood for something a bit more sweet, try the simply delicious wood-fired toast with ricotta. The Grinder's coffee is brewed attentively; a cappuccino is around three bucks. Also, they sell homemade frozen foods like pastas and pies that are tasty and cheap. I pick these up and leave them in my freezer for when I have no time or interest in cooking dinner for myself. read more
