We were driving along and just happened to spot this place so decided to stop in. The glass artwork is absolutely beautiful, with vibrant colors and sea themes common. Lots of big giant jellyfish lamps! The largest was $1500. The gallery is small and will only take you a few moments to view in it's entirety, but it's worth stopping in to see. read more

Buster and Trish are super nice people. We always feel welcome in their shop or watching Buster blow glass. This is an amazing process. He makes beautiful glass artwork. I have been coming here for years. For us this is a mandatory stop whenever we are in town. Last year I inquired about having Buster make us some Pendant Lamps to go over our Granite Island. Buster was super patient as my wife and I definitely have different ideas about what we want. We came back to get the custom lamps made , but he had made a set of three (3) only the week before and they were just what we wanted. They were very reasonably priced and are beautiful. The Glass Fire Gallery is a treat for the eyes any time of year. Buster & Trich Dyer are fantastic artists and wonderfully friendly people. This gallery is a must see if you are ever in the area. Just to walk through their gallery is a treat. But be sure to check the workshop in the back of the parking lot to see if they are working on a new piece. We visit Mendocino/Fort Bragg semi-annually and always stop at Glass Fire and the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens next door. Last year I splurged and bought my daughter a table top jelly on a lighted wood stand....I had decided against it, but before we left town I was "drawn back" to the gallery and did it! Trish and Buster are so accommodating.... very welcoming to guests who want to watch them work and ask questions. read more

A fantastic variety of glass and ceramic artwork inspired by the oceanic elements on the Mendocino coast. Incredibly realistic abalone shells, sea stars, jelly fish,etc. The studio is open and stools welcome visitors to watch the artisans. They are friendly and engaging and without prompting explain their processes and explain what and how they are making their creations. Our children loved the gallery and studio. We were able to watch Buster make a "wave" and we came back the next morning to see it after it had been in the oven overnight and had been cleaned up. It was beautiful and we ended up bringing it home along with an octopus. They make some incredible jellyfish lamps. I found myself wishing I could fool myself they would go with our current decor. I really wanted to buy them. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to the area. read more

Really enjoyed the gallery. The glass artwork is really cool and the owner was very nice. I loved that some of the items were actually affordable, usually when I go into a gallery I end up looking and not buying anything. Bought a glass flower as a gift for my mother-in-law and an awesome glass blown jellyfish for myself. Love the quality of both items. Unfortunately, the kiln was being fixed when I came to visit, so I didn't get to see any of the glass blowing in action. Definitely want to come back to pick up a few more items and to see the glass blowing. read more

A very small gallery approximately 50 total pieces are on display. There are about 10-15 pieces that can be purchased. We didn't get to see the glass making part of it as they do all the glass blowing in the morning. This place has no hour because they close when they think it's time to close. So, if you're going to travel a long way to get here, make sure you call ahead. If you want to see glass fire without the fire part, head to Aria hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, it's free and it's awesome and all the pieces is from the famous Chihuly. He has another gallery in Seattle and the Seattle is much better since it's a lot bigger but you have to pay for it. I wanted to take my wife here to see the actual glass making but was very disappointed. 1 - star was for the gallery 1 - star was for the affordable pieces. My wife wanted a piece but it's pretty expensive for such a small piece so we skipped it. It was my wife's idea to skip it even though it was her birthday. read more

Stop the car! Whether your just passing through town or live locally it's worth your while to swing by Glass Fire Gallery. The gallery pieces are breathtaking and Buster gave us the warmest of welcomes. His glass work is gorgeous, unique and functional. He also supports other talented artist in the gallery which ads to the intrigue. Wish I could illuminate my entire home with his art work. We purchased two pieces which have transformed our dining room, it feels great in our home. Thanks Buster, we will be back. read more

The blown-glass jelly fish chandeliers by artist Buster Dyer are absolutely breath-taking. The more you look at them the more detail you see - layers of color and pattern. Every time I come through Fort Bragg I have to stop and visit the piece that will someday be mine. They also have small glass starfish, anemones and octopi perfect for a desk top or curio cabinet. read more

We'd tried for 4 days to see the gallery but it was never open. Finally, this morning, someone was working in the back shed area. I asked when the gallery might be open. The 'gentleman' stated 'maybe tomorrow' and then said 'were you going to buy something?" When I responded that we'd like to take a look before making that decision he laughed, made a snarky remark and then turned away. Not sure how this place stays in business when they're never open and have rude and obnoxious people working there. read more

A nice place to stop, just south of Fort Bragg on the west side of the highway, next to the Botanical Gardens. The staff is really nice and informative and not pushy. I liked the jellyfish chandeliers by Buster Dyer (who you can watch at work out back) and the vases by Carl Radke. Maybe when I have more of a disposable income I may actually buy something. read more

Stopping by Glass Fire Gallery should NOT be missed!! It was a real highlight for me and my wife. We were lucky enough to spend a few moments with the couple that runs the place and produces the art. Buster, I think that's his name!, is the artist that puts these truly incredible art pieces together, and oh my, what a great guy! He took me through the process of what it takes to produce their signature Jellyfish lamps, though I think he could tell I was not in a financial position to purchase one. That being said, the glasswork is NOT expensive - as a previous reviewer suggested. In fact, it's quite reasonable, considering the work it takes to put these pieces together, run the kiln and shop, and ect. Please understand fellow Yelpers that art is not mass produced in some foreign country with weaker labor laws than us. It takes a great deal of commitment, risk and confidence to put together these beautiful things together. Anyway, this glass gallery will stay within our hearts and minds for a long time. We drove back home to Ventura talking about how one day we'd love to buy one of these beautiful lamps. And one day we hope we will. Thank you Glass Fire Gallery. We come to Mendocino area at least once every year and love the GlassFire Gallery. The display gallery is beautiful and includes paintings and jewelery of other artisans, as well as the stunning jellyfish light installations of Buster and Tish. I have bought numerous gifts there - earings, flowers, starfish and last Father's Day, a frothing wave for my husband. My daughter and I were lucky enough to catch an instructional session where Buster taught 2 high school aged sisters to make flowers and a slug. Someday I will treat myself to a chandelier. read more

Buster made us some lights for our kitchen remodel and we have been enjoying them for years now. He and Trish even came to Petaluma to install them for us. We have enjoyed visiting the gallery on our trips up North and were so appreciative of his glass blowing demonstration for us and our kids. read more

We dropped by in hopes that our kids would have a chance to see glass blowing in action, and we were sure in for a treat! The artists were hard at work on a piece that we were able to observe from start to finish. It was amazing and very educational. The gallery was beautiful and deserves a plethora of visitors. Our family lived in Fort Bragg for a short time and before we left to return to our home in the east we purchased a large jelly fish pendant light for our dining room and another beautiful chandelier for our entry. Trish and Buster Dyer made the jellyfish to order and shipped the lights, with hardware, back east for us. We get so many great comments on both pieces and will be back for more some day.
