My bichon has stayed here many times and always comes home happy. It is a muddy farm but the dogs are very well looked after.

The pet nanny team are my life saver. Having a dog and working full time is tricky to juggle. I…read morework from home 2 days a week and 2 days I come home at lunch time to walk my dog. I like to have at least one day where I am at the office all day which is usually a weds. On this day the pet nanny walks my dog Cooper. They also do the odd other day when I am stuck and I know Cooper gets a good walk with his doggie chums. Having met Georgie a couple of times before her team started walking my dog I already knew she knows her business well and that business is dogs. I wouldnt trust many of my friends with my dog but I trust the pet nanny team. They know you need eyes in the back of your head. Its very important that my dog has time with other dogs as it keeps him well socialised. I had one instance lately where one of the pet nanny team Jonny who walks Cooper at the moment picked him up to walk him and in doing so found my dog had emptied the bin all over the house. He texted to tell me what happened and I told him not to worry and that I would clean it up. I got home later to find Jonny had cleaned it all up. The pet nanny go above and beyond and I can't recommend them enough.

Sunnymead Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery

Sunnymead Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery

After leaving my two young 10 month old healthy cats here for 5 days during the busy August…read moreholidays, I returned to collect them, thinking it was nice that they were escorted into their baskets ready for me (I would normally do this) and that I was given most of their food back? The cats cried all the way home and one urinated in its basket which I thought was bizarre. The journey back is about half hour and when I returned home I immediately noticed that one had a 2 inch nasty wound on it's back ankle I contacted my vet and booked an immediate appointment. The Vet confirmed she had an infected 2 inch wound and a high temperature. They said the injury had happened over 24 hours previously hence the temperature, infection and puss. It was discussed that the cat must have been accidently trodden on as it was too large a wound for it to be a simple cat scratch. When I returned home I contacted Sunnymead (about an hour after me collecting the cats) to let them know what's happened and whether they knew anything? The lady said she knew nothing and she would look into it and call me back. I never got that call, so the next day I contacted them again and was told by the same lady that they had checked the cage and there was nothing to suggest any injury. She said that my other cat could of hurt her to which I disagreed. She then said it must of happened when I brought them home after (considering I didn't ring her until an hour after collecting them) which I thought was a stupid thing to say!. I asked why they had not noticed her not eating as surely this would of triggered alarm bells and treatment could have been given? she said it's quite common that cats don't eat their food. I said the injury had happened whilst in their care and that they have Pet Plan insurance which would cover my vet bills. She then said that I would need to prove it! and that she would get her Manager to call me. 2 days later the Manager left me a voicemail message to say "sorry to hear your cats have had a 'spat' - these things can happen etc. etc." The wound wouldn't heal properly with the antibiotics and after around '3' further visits back to the vets and £200 later, I was told that the infection was in the bone as it was a deep injury and so I was given further antibiotics for the bone, they told me if the cat didn't respond to further treatment then they would need to operate on her. The bone infection did heal eventually. I can understand that it was an extremely busy period during the summer holidays but when you put your animals into care then you are placing your complete trust in those people to look after them and see no harm occurs. It doesn't matter how the injury happened, the matter of the fact is that it should have been noticed and treated. I am disgusted by what has happened, firstly that my cat was injured in their care, then neglected, secondly that I was made to feel like a liar. I would never recommend this cattery to anyone. I think there are not enough staff looking after your animals and they can get neglected.
