I have delt with this group off and on for many years. While I have had very nice Drs, both female and most recent, male, the office staff and nurses are incredibly rude and un caring, It is very difficult to get an appointment. Seems no matter what the case is about. I am 62 years old, and never had such a bad experience with an office staff. I most recently have just been blown off to get seen due to Dr Beck leaving. Dr. Hodgson is wonderful. He has followed through with my problems and helped me find a solution. He never makes me wait and always makes me feel that he is listening too me and that I am his main concern. The best thing is that they have telehealth. I live in Globe and it very hard to get down to the valley especially for a 15 minute visit in this heat. He takes his time and really listens to my concerns. Truely a good doctor. With my experiencing memory loss I was recommended Gilbert Neurology. I initially tried to make an appt. with MD but was put with a NP. After several appts. and an MRI and cognitive test no definite diagnosis was made. Only take a pill and come back in a few months. When asked to see the MD was told our insurance did not cover it. I feel that our visits here were a complete waste of time. We since changed providers and were given a basic diagnosis and a good path forward. Lost about 9 months of time. read more

If I could give less stars I would. Every negative review you read about this place is 100% accurate and then some. It takes over 5 weeks to get an appointment, then it will only be a consultation, even if you have a referral for exactly what you need done. After the consultation it will take another 5-6 weeks for an appointment. There's a good chance they are going to cancel on you as well (as they did me). Instead of doing the right thing, and trying to fit you in as soon as possible, you just go to the back of the line in priority and have to wait another 5-6 weeks for an appointment. Here's the kicker, during this entire process, prepare to be shown absolutely ZERO empathy from the person on the other end of the line. Take it one further, not only no empathy but they are blatantly rude to you. It's a shame that these people have either never been in a situation where their health depends on receiving proper care, or they have already forgotten what it feels like to receive care urgently and be respected in the process. My doctor referred here. They called me to schedule an appointment. I called back within 10 minutes and hung up less than 5 minutes into the conversation. The receptionist there is UNREAL. Other reviews are not exaggerating. I was shocked. I even told her she was being rude. She doubled down. I said I would just give my business to another practice. If these doctors don't care enough about the numerous reviews citing this as a problem, a problem that is so easy to fix, how on earth could I trust them with a more serious problem like whatever is happening in my back? read more

When you are testing an individual for cognition, you absolutely CANNOT help them with the answers. Thank goodness, I sat in for my brothers testing, otherwise I wouldn't have known that my brother was getting fed the answers. The test results were obviously invalid. Whoever is hiring these young people and not properly training them, needs to be fired. read more

The office did not treat patients llike they were people. The doctors were unprofessional and rude. They were not willing to admit when they messed up instead tried to blame the patient and the hospital staff for their failure and ignorance of a neurological disease and how to treat the flares that are common with neurological diseases. The patient care that the head doctor at Gilbert Neurology and the head neurologist at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center did not realize, care, or willing to admit he over dosed his patient on steroids. To the point that he ended up in a behavioral health facility with an acute anxiety attack. He was unable to communicate or function properly for four days. read more

I've been referred to a neurologist by my pcp and originally started looking in the Mesa area as that's closer to me. However, the closest neurologist offices were either booked out for months or simply didn't answer their phones nor return voice-mails I left. Fortunately, I found Gilbert neurology, and although they have closer offices in Mesa, those too had limited appointments. So, I ultimately ended up coming to this location. I will compliment their front and back office staff as they have excellent customer service skills. The practitioners are also caring and understanding. Most calls are returned within one business day. I'm fortunate to be able to come here even though it's roughly 30 minutes one way from my home - a small price to pay for the excellent care I've received to date. read more

Was a patient here and the person I was working with left. When I tried to have a new nurse/doctor assigned they wanted me to go to a different location farther away from my house. I asked to look at other options first. When I called back to schedule with someone new they said the would, then after about 5 days they called and refused to schedule me and said they would no longer accept me as a patient. This was after telling them multiple times over the previous weeks I had an event and needed to see someone soon. read more

Dr. Beck may be a great doctor, but his staff is uncaring, with no compassion. My mom has been a patient for years. She suffers from Parkinson's and is now in an assisted living facility. Until recently, she has been able to manage her own medication. Over the last few weeks, she has become more confused and is no longer able to manage taking her meds on time. We have been trying for nearly two weeks to get Dr. Beck's office to provide the assisted living facility with authorization for them to start giving mom her meds. We have been calling for days but no one ever answers. We leave multiple messages begging someone to call us back, but no one ever does. Finally today, I went to their Gilbert office to ask for the paperwork I need. I was met with an uncaring front desk receptionist who refused to help, giving me a phone number to call to leave another message. Meanwhile, my mom is suffering in a care facility, unable to take her meds, with caregivers who can't legally give them either. The front desk woman said "we understand the urgency" but showed none. No compassion. No understanding. No help. Miserable customer service. Someone who doesn't care about their patients shouldn't be in the medical industry. read more

Would not recommend. Have had five years of pain and saw this place one time. They put me with an NP who didn't want to figure out why I'm in pain and told me I should just go back to a pain center. I asked the front desk to schedule me with the actual doctor and she refused, saying I am now "established" with the NP and can never change per their policy. I told her I will not be back and they wasted my time. Now they are texting my cell phone that I didn't consent to, being unprofessional and petty telling me I no showed an appt that I didn't make and I owe money. The response is so childish. "We wrote off a no show however per your insurance you owe a co-pay for DOS 11/4/2021. If you would like to go to collections for a co-pay that's fine." read more

Well, I don't know where to start!! This is the ABSOLUTE WORST MEDICAL PRACTICE IN THE ENTIRE STATE!!! I've never experienced such unprofessional people in my entire life!!!! Not only do you NEVER get to see the actual DOCTOR, only the PA, Vanessa Nguyen (who doesn't know what she's doing), they can't even get their billing system under control!! I've been trying for over a year to get one single bill for $41.51 straightened out and I keep being told that the office manager will call me back....NO ONE CALLS ME BACK!!! First, on 9/15/22 I was told by Courtney to "Disregard this bill" as they just hadn't submitted it to insurance yet! (Date of service was 5/9/22) My next call was on 10/3/22 , Courtney "Re-submitted the claim" In January Celeste said they have a new office Mgr Raylene. I had left many messages for Keeley the previous manager who NEVER RETURNED my calls! I called and left messages for Raylene. I then got a letter on 1/23/23 saying I owed $41.51 or they'd send me to collections. I called the office very upset saying I'll pay them but don't want collections on my record!! I spoke to Jen who said not to pay it before speaking to Raylene, she'd call me back and they would not be sending me to collections! Raylene....NEVER CALLED I CALLED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN! Went to see Dr. Joy at his office on Baseline and Higley. First reflection his office assistant that should "GREET" you doesn't Greet you. She's rather beotchy in her mannerism. In fact all the staff, except for the assistant that checks you out. Have bad attitudes. When a Dr. won't challenge the insurance company on required MRI's is this the type of Dr. you really want to see? He hasn't a clue about what he's doing especially after sending me to two Dr's and spending money on a Dr. I really didn't need to see. What a jerk! I think Dr. joy was put off when I told him that his office doesn't line up or match his name. Everyone here is everything but full of Joy. Dr. Sent me on a wild goose chase telling me I should see an RA because all my symptoms line up with what I'm experiencing, RA says my symptoms all line up with MS, not RA. But Dr. Joy was reluctant to deal with me nor wld he challenge the Insurance company to get further test overrode, so he could get to the bottom of what was happening to me. When falling down stairs starts taking away your quality of life, breaking your ankle or or putting a 6 " gash in your because you fell up against a glass desk and your arm almost nicks the main artery, or falling and hitting a corner of the wall and bruising up you back and rib cage, or falling down and on a boulder and chipping your teeth. The Dr. wants to blame it all on RA. RA dr says all my symptoms are neurological and related to MS. I was also told to visit a Endocrinologist, got there Dr. reviewed my lab work and asked why Dr. Joy referenced me to an Endocrinologist, he said I needed to be seen by a pulmonary specialist that deals with diseases of the lungs. So if this gives you any insight as to what type of Dr. you'll be dealing with. I would run if you could and stay away from him completely. read more

At first, I thought that might be my co-pay, but when I asked what today's co-pay was, they informed me I didn't have a co-pay, then I processed to ask what the balance was from she said you did not show up for an appointment on February 28, 2024, then that was when I processed to say how could I show to appointment if the doctor was in the building and she asked how do I know this I said well I still have the voicemail saying the scheduler message that was then why I said I was here Thursday for that reschedule an appointment, but the front desk girls screw that appointment we will leave your balance for, but you will need to call our billing manager well I called her told her the same thing and plavedbettbe message from the scheduler saying tb er y need to reschedule at first she was kind Abitchy!! I had two appointments with Dr. Nguyen. She ordered a couple of tests to be done. She seemed very nonchalant about the health problems that I was experiencing and had no real answers. Dr. Nguyen also stated that the health problems I was experiencing may return and or never go away. I couldn't be more disappointed with Gilbert Neurology. Waste of a time and $30 copay. For the record I found a great neurologist and feel better. I'm frustrated for the months I wasted without relief and the hopeless feeling that I struggled through due to Dr. Nguyen's comments and inaction. Avoid Gilbert neurology. read more

As others have said, if I could give this place zero stars I would. From the very beginning, it has been a nightmare. I left multiple voicemails to never have any returned, other medical professionals I was working with also left multiple voicemails for clarification on scan orders and never had a phone call returned. Dr. Hodgson blew off two of my appointments - one the office said he was taking a last minute vacation and the other "something came up" but happened to be on a three day weekend, I'm thinking another vacation day. They genuinely do not care about their patients, and they make that so obvious. I urge everyone to consider a different neurologist office. read more

My apologies for adding this very late review for a Dr visit in 2021. I was pleased with my first appointment. I saw Celeste Fine and she great: very interested in helping me, answered my questions and gave me some extra knowledge I didn't know. She ordered some blood work, and a scan to rule out certain conditions. I'm starting to feel better but I was still have some lingering issues and it's nice to have the peace of mind on my health journey. I appreciated she listened to my concerns and what got me to the point I am now. Just thought i'd mention the her office calls to explain the results of your test relatively quickly and that's much appreciated. Lastly i had a virtual follow up appointment with Celeste and all is good and no further appointments are needed since i'm feeling back to myself. If you are working poor and have private primary insurance through your employer, and AHCCCS as a secondary insurance, they will not accept you and they treat you as a pariah. If you want to go here, do not tell them that you have AHCCCS as a secondary insurance, and you will get an appt. When they bill you for whatever your primary insurance doesn't cover, you can send those bills to AHCCCS directly to be paid. read more

We wanted to be clear of this place but as I'm sure you know it takes time to switch providers. My son's seizure meds were due to be refilled four days before his appointment with his new neurologist. After taking weeks to get our medical records sent to our new provider we could not get a return call to refill the seizure med before running out. I walked in and sat in the office to wait. Dr. Rafael refused to refill his medication and said to take him to the ER if he has a seizure. This was her answer when she's aware that he has seizures if he misses his meds by hours. It's disgusting! I'm reporting her to the board! She made an oath to do know harm then knowingly withheld meds from my son. She should not be in practice! She clearly does not care about her patients. Please do not go to this provider, she's dangerous! read more

My daughter loved this place until now. Whatever happened to their motto "simply put, we care" She is having issues with her heart and wanted to make sure it wasn't Diabetic Neuropathy. Because she was just over a few months short of 3 years since being there, they would not see her. It seems they don't take her insurance anymore. This is so awful. If she was seen in the past 3 years they would have taken her, but she fell short of the months and therefor denied seeing her. It is so very sad that they did this to her. I tried for 3 months to get Dr. Shah's PA to call me back and he refuses to. I then tried to schedule an appt without providing a reason and all I get is the answering machine and they refuse to call me back as well. It is unfortunate to say such words regarding a case involving Dr. Paarth Shah, however, I can not just sit hear and not profess about our (my wife Olivia and I) current life situations due to Dr. Shah Paarth's actions during the treatment and it's consequences. Simply put - my wife spent 11 day in the hospital, my wife has two feeding tubes that needs 24hr attention and her esophagus is currently not working and can not eat without throwing up. This was due to Dr. Paarth injecting too much (much larger does than allowed as we find out-from the supplier of these toxins) for headache treatment (Which was not even labeled for use). This in turn destructed the esophagus (neuromuscular junctions - which may take years to reconnect). Out life is now completely different as this result. We spend most of our mornings trying to feed through those small hoses. She is getting a bit weak and constant visit to Barrows did not bring any comfort. This is really sad - I am sad - so as to this write up. I am saddened by watching my wife suffering and in agony and no comforting thoughts or words from the clinic or Dr. Shah Paarth. I will continue fighting for my wife and try to make her day a best days everyday. read more

I wouldn't recommend here, they are not intelligent enough to find your insurance anyway. i had made a previous appointment and was told they couldn't make an appointment because i was not insured. i requested that they call the insurance to verify and was told they don't do that. i eventually called my insurance provider to send over my information and was then able to make an appointment. I then had to cancel that appointment and when i went to reschedule was told I WAS NOT INSURED. I have been trying to get an appointment with this office for more than a week. Have called the office 5 times, keep getting put through to voicemail. I leave a voicemail saying that I would like to make an appointment, leave my name and phone number and I have yet to receive a phone call back. There is no way to speak to a human to make an appointment, you only get pushed to voicemail. Not even a courtesy call to say we will get back to you or anything. Until today, I would have given this place 5 Stars... but not anymore. Before today, I had been a patient of Celeste Fine's for 12 years after experiencing a brain aneurysm and brain tumor. She is/was amazing! She left the clinic very recently, but I was not informed. I asked why I was not notified and was told it was announced on the Portal. I do not even know how to get to the portal. Most professional places send a letter to the patient if their doctor is leaving. That was just the first blow. As a patient, I was reassigned to Dr. Burr, who completely changed my prescription without consulting with me. When I asked about that, I was informed that she would change everything back after I came in for an appointment. So, I attempted to make an appointment but upon realizing that I was a self-pay client, they told me that I could no longer be seen there. After 12 years, they kicked me out because I wanted to pay-out-of-pocket. So, I lost my doctor, my prescriptions (because they refused to refill any at this point), and all the compassion I had once felt from this place. All gone in a 5-minute phone call. I will never again refer anyone to this place, as I have done many times over the years. The lack of concern and empathy I felt from the staff today was crushing. read more

Dr. Fisher has no business being a licensed provider. She has terrible bedside manner. It's as though she treats her patients like they are a dollar sign. I'm not sure where she went to school, but it's very obvious that she needs to be re-educated. I've noticed that I am not the only one who feels this way. The reviews speak volume. I can't imagine this practice will be around much longer. If I could leave less than 1 star, this would be it. She treats patients poorly and misdiagnosis constantly. I've received feedback from other patients as well as my own. If you have any sense at all, you will keep your family and friends far away from this place. There are plenty of providers in the area that provide much better care and are very knowledgeable. This so called physician doesn't deserve a single a patient. read more
