I LOVE Giks! I was traveling solo and my Spanish is embarrassingly bad but the ladies at Giks made this a great experience. I set up the appointment through Yelp, received a prompt response and the salon itself is beautiful with a relaxing environment (any salon that offers champs or wine is okay with me.) The quality of service was amazing and the price was surprisingly reasonable (BA can be expensive) - honestly one of the best gel manicures and nail salon experiences I've ever had. I absolutely love this place. The decor is very trendy, music is always poppin, and the staff is very friendly. Giselle, the owner, is always super responsive to messages via Yelp (if you plan on going, be sure to schedule an appointment!). The salon also has a wide variety of high quality polishes, particularly the OPI brand. Oh, and they offer you a glass of wine when you arrive. Why wouldn't you want to come here?? I've been in BA for two months and was in desperate need for a mani pedi. It being summer here and always wearing flip flops my feet were destroyed. I was able to make an appt through yelp by messaging the business. The process was super easy and fast. Staff spoke some English so they didn't have to listen to me butcher Spanish. This terrific new salon in Palermo Hollywood is a gem! Giks just opened up a brand new location 2 months ago and does manicures, pedicures, and waxing. I love this place because they have modern and sterile equipment, high quality polishes (O.P.I.), and clean waxing stations. The nail technicians are thorough and take their time on your nails. They also play good music and serve customers drinks. The owner Giselle (she goes by Gigi) is a Porteno who lived in the US for several of years and speaks perfect English. Super accommodating and affordable! I paid around $30 total for a full manicure and pedicure. The desk receptionist was so nice and even gave my girlfriends and me a complimentary glass of wine! Don't bother making an appointment, they don't respect u or your time. Awful service. Appointment made for mani pedi at 5 pm. Made me wait half an hour, fine. Good pedi. Then made me wait another 35 minutes before they informed me that it would be 15 MORE minutes before they'll do mani . Left without it and outraged. Caballito Giks is wayyy better. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Giselle responded quickly and worked around my schedule and I got an appointment on a very busy Friday. The woman who did waxing and the other who did my pedicure were both professional, skilled and patient with my lack of Spanish. Either Giselle or the lovely woman who worked the front desk were available for translating if it was needed. They even brought me champagne! I felt pampered and well taken care of from start to finish. I am pleased with both services I received and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely go back before I leave. read more

Very disappointing experience. My friends gave me a gift card for my birthday earlier this year and when I wanted to use it they told me it's only valid for 30 days. Being from another country this concept is more than weird to me. The place didn't gave me any other explanation than "this is how things are done here". When I offered to pay a difference for inflation the owner of this place cut me off telling me I could come and get the treatment but pay for it. What an offer - when my friends had already payed for it. Overall, the owner of this place had a very harsh tone talking to me and hang up on me. Is this a way to treat your clients? Worst pedicure I've ever had. My nails weren't cut and were barely filed, the calluses weren't buffed, no massage, hardly any maintenance concerning the skin or cuticles. My toenails really just look bad. I was scheduled to also get a manicure but between the way my toes looked and the time I sat and waited between my appointments that were supposed to be back to back - I cancelled the nails.
