I had a really dissatisfactory experience with Dr. Stinissen. He was not able to recognise Hep. A…read moreright away by an almost complete symptomatic picture. With ALAT 7715, ASAT 4006 I had to wait for a non-Hepatitis test results to come back first, before he decided to test my blood for Hep. A. (A huisartsen post had to call me on Sunday to literally check if I am alive.) In addition to that, after several months of a positive recovery trend, he commented a sudden rise of the liver function blood markers as "the curation goes well". I had to insist on referencing me to a gastroenterologist. It all ended with a biopsy of my liver... Those two fails of Dr Stinissen do make an impression that there is some lack of expertise on diagnostics of and recovery process from a highly infectious desease like Hepatitis A.

We can port this review onto the Ooesterpark location as soon as they deign set up a place for me to do so. I had heard that this was a good choice for an expat as they understood international issues well. They refused to prescribe "specialist" medications (do not read opiates/benzos into this... it was nothing addictive. Anti-depressants ect.) and instead referred me to appropriate specialists. OK. Not cool. But OK. None of those specialists were able to get me into their clinic due to the long waiting lists. My meds ran out. I became non-functional. I pointed this fact out in an appointment. The doctor was firm that no medication bridges would be written. The only specialist I was able to see in a reasonable time period was across the city. The doctor neglected to point out that this was the one clinic in the city that was not covered by our insurance... Also, there were two occasions that they made an appointment then "lost" it. The second time I showed them the appointment confirmation e-mail and they STILL turned me away. They had me send my medical information by E-Mail. BY FREAKING E-MAIL! Are there no patient data protection laws in this country? I tried to bring in a hardcopy or offer them a disk. They would take neither. So I sent medical records in by E-Mail. Then when I sent it they lost it. Then when I resent it, the doctor never had any idea what was in the document... so I don't know why they forced me to compromise my data in this way. The doctors as well as the staff are friendly and accommodating. They'll take you here if you're not a regular. You can call them to make an appointment or schedule one online. You will have to pay for your visit after you're done. It's easy to find being right next to Westermarkt church.
