Hands down this was the worst massage and spa treatment either of us has ever had. The spa is cluttered and doesn't feel clean. The treatment rooms were cold and damp, the ladies had to turn on a heater and place extra towels over us to keep us warm. Our 1 hour massage was the worst we have ever had. On several occasions the masseuse put far too much pressure over bones or joints causing pain. None of our muscular tension was relieved and we felt more tense after. We wanting to leave even prior to our 1 hour facial. The facial that followed was as bad if not worse. The products were cheap, heavily scented and left the skin feeling irritated and heavy. Very disappointing considering this cost us over $400 and we left feeling more stiff and sore and less relaxed.

At first I thought to myself, perhaps it wasn't meant for me to go there however the young woman at the desk was so pleasant and she went to seek advice (I guess). In the meantime I messaged the person that I was messaging back-and-forth last night and they offered me to sit in the sauna prior to the service as they would be able to honor my appointment just at a little later time. I must say the young woman who I did not get her name, but she was from France, did a spectacular job! I had a two hour massage and I wish I could've laid there for another two hours. I had requested a foot reflexology and wish that could've been a little longer however I will definitely go back when back in Auckland.

At Royal Beauty they perform a number of treatments from IPL, waxing, nails, skin therapy, and much more. Having just recently renovated the premise, it looks 100 times better and so much more inviting. I really love what they have done with the place as I feel it will make it more appealing to public who have never heard of them before. I can be the first to say I was incredibly sceptical when I first arrived at their location. I have been going to Royal Beauty for over a year every 4 weeks for IPL treatments. I cannot rate this product enough, I love it. The results give you the confidence to do anything! Especially in summer times when there is a lot of maintenance to be had. I have only come to Rocco and Rouge for fake tans because I heard from a friends older sister that they did a great job on her tan for a ball she went to. In all honestly when they were using St Tropez tan a few years ago I was very happy how it turned out, however last year I went there for a tan before my best friends 21st. We both asked to be the darkest shade. Having both fake tanned a number of times we know that it can sometimes take time to develop, however this one never did. It was the day of the party and we were both as pasty as ever! After calling up and complaining about the experience they were very accommodating and offered us both another complementary tan. However I found when i went back for my tan it was very streaky. To be honest i would rather just do it myself as i know what colour ill be turning. I cannot comment on their other services, but they are located in a lovely little store in the bottom of Parnell so I'd hope they have a good following to keep them a float. I personally just haven't had a good experience with them and wouldn't recommend them to any of my friends wanting a tan.

I love their massages because they're minimum an hour (which I feel is only just long enough to truly relax and unwind) and are affordable. Their massages are either 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes. They do traditional Thai massages, aromatherapy massages, hot oil massages and my favourite the Swedish and sports massages. They also perform facials, body scrubs and hot stone spas. There is no need to book as they do accept walk ins. Before your treatment they kindly given you some green tea, and give your feet a quick scrub before showing you to your room. After your massage or beauty treatment they have another cup of green tea waiting with your shoes. Hadtawach is located down a funny old looking drive, but seriously, this place is 100% legit and I have only ever had a fantastic experiences here! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. If Newmarket isn't convenient and Freemans Bay is, there is another store located on College Hill.
