I've been to Gertrude's for brunch twice now, and I've enjoyed it both times! The restaurant inside the Baltimore Museum of Art, just off the lobby. You can go into the museum just for lunch (also, FYI, the museum is always free, so you can go in, walk around a bit, and then have brunch or dinner if you prefer)! The food is classic Mid-Atlantic/Chesapeake cuisine and has something for everyone (crab soup, raw oysters, fried oysters, seafood salad, burgers, BLT, oyster po boys, crab cakes - multiple kinds of course - shrimp salad, ribs, vegan crab cakes, crab quiche, MD fried chicken, ...). They also offer brunch specials. I've tried two brunch specials - salmon mousse omelet with a side salad (very good) and swordfish medallions and eggs (very good). (I've started both meals with the chilled soup of the day, too!) They have all the drinks you can imagine and would want with brunch. They have inside and outside seating (the outside seating goes fast in nice weather), but I recommend making recommendations regardless of whether you want to sit inside or out. It's a popular restaurant for brunch in particular, and it can fill up for reservations. The service is pretty good, but they can get busy and service can be a bit slow. My biggest complaint about the restaurant is that - especially for a restaurant in such a beautiful art museum - the decor is so old fashioned and ugly! I hope they renovate soon and change up those banquets and columns! But it's a great traditional brunch, has good food, and is in such a great location. Check it out if you're looking for a classic mid-Atlantic brunch (I'll be back for whatever seafood special they have next)! read more

The only thing that I had a negative experience with was that my server kept trying to take my food while I was talking even though I still had food on my plate. Yikes The good: -French 75 riff with a weird name -Fried oysters had good breading and crispiness -cream of crab soup* The meh: -fried chicken was OK. A little dry but over all OK. The bad: -the "cold smoked" old fashioned was maybe the worst cocktail I've ever had. Smoke. Nothing but hickory smoke. Not a delicate smokiness to compliment the ingredients. Just smoke water on ice. Waste of whiskey, they should have just poured that liquid smoke into vodka. The fact that I had one sip and left it untouched should have been a sign to the server but oh well. -crab cake: "Gertrude style". Rubbery and barely warm. My date said it perfectly "that tastes like it's been sitting around all day." I thing by "broiled" they meant microwaved or kept under a heat lamp. I disassembled it and pulled out the bigger crab chunks just because it didn't want to waste the effort some crab picker put into it. -the greens: tasted EXACTLY like the cocktail. Which might have been OK if I was unaware of the drink's existence. But the fact they tasted identical is a problem. No ingredients should be shared across these dishes. There's no smoker going out back. Liquid smoke maybe? I dunno. -"buttermilk biscuit". You know the crappy biscuits you get a Sysco diners/cafeterias? That's the biscuit they serve. It wasn't even warm. The * by the soup. When the food runner brought my soup he didn't bring a spoon. There's no spoon in the silverware set. Am I supposed to drink this? So we eventually flag him. "Hey can I have a spoon please?" The attitude he copped you'd think I was asking for something absurd. I guess we're supposed to use forks. Very strange interaction So I got a decent fried oyster / chicken basket for $150. I don't think I'll ever return. read more

Gertrude's has been a Baltimore institution for years. I recall a $10 Tuesdays dinner special that they featured, which gave me a reason to dine out on weeknights. Alas, that special is no longer, so smartly priced Sunday brunch is another way to go. My last several visits for brunch has been pretty good dining experiences. On the most recent visit, I ordered the grilled veggie omelette, served with a salad and fried potatoes. My dining friend ordered the same. We agreed that the omelette had good flavor, but it was thicker than we would have liked. The salad and potatoes were fairly good. Maybe it's too much to ask, but I'm looking for a brunch that really wows me. I just didn't get that here. The atmosphere is usually pleasant, with plenty of lively buzz from other patrons. On this visit, there was a trio that played instrumental jazz that made the dining experience even nicer. The staff is friendly and professional, which makes Getrude's a reason to return. read more

I have been to the BMA a number of times, but I guess it has always been in between meals because I have never gotten a meal at Gertrude's. What is even sadder is that it is one of the closest restaurants to the home I have lived in for going on 4 years! I was certainly missing out. Four of us arrived for brunch on a Sunday. We decided to eat inside (if it were up to me I would have sat outside because it was lovely out there!). Staff took COVID precautions very seriously, which was very comforting considering we did opt to sit inside. I am not sure if this is usual or because of covid, but when we sat down instead of getting a bread basket, each of us received our own personal plate with cornbread and a biscuit. Please tell me why this made me feel so special lol. I could not get over how nice it was and both were quite delicious! I was feelin something crabby so I asked our server if she liked the crab omelet or quiche more and she suggested the quiche so that's the way I went. I was surprised by how much crabmeat was in this puppy. WOW. So good and the swiss cheese added a nice touch to the flavor. I also enjoyed the side salad that accompanied it, simple but just what you need because the quiche is pretty rich in flavor. My husband got the Eggs Gertrude and this was the winning dish for me. I think if this is your first time dining here for brunch, you should go on and order this. Perfect brunch item IMHO. Our friends ordered the pancakes and Eggs Benedict, The Original. Amazing! Delicious! And I can't wait to go again! Right after an event here I was apart of we all decided to make sure we had a reservation to go after the event! So thankful we did because it was such a great experience. Ordered the butternut squash macaroni and cheese, the bbq fries, the Gerties crab cake with rosemary potatoes, apple slaw, Seafood salad topped with the lemon vinaigrette, and the bread pudding. The butternut squash Mac and cheese is definitely for someone that is ok with the vegetarian tasting max rather than southern style Mac. The bbq fries were just fries cooked to perfection and topped with brown sugar, paprika, oregano and chili powder and their secret sauce. The crab cake was AMAZING!! So happy they didn't have a fillers inside because I would have been so hurt. Not a slaw person but it smelled good (shrugging my shoulders). The seafood salad was AMAZING!! The only suggestion I would make is for them to take the tails off of the shrimp they had in the salad, but otherwise it was a dish I would order again! The bread pudding wasn't really anything special. I have a certain way I prefer my bread pudding, and theirs was a bit too moist and pudding like in my opinion. The service was amazing as well! Had a lovely double date dinner night here. Located inside the BMA, I was please with how easy it was to find parking and get inside on a Sunday night. The outside atmosphere was very calming and pretty, but the seating under the tent, felt less outdoorsy than some seating that was not covered. On to more important things, the food was quite delicious. The top items were the rockfish, the crab cakes, and the seafood jambalaya. On the other hand, the cream of crab soup was NOT the best that I had and I could do without ever having it again. A special mention has to be made about the side order of stewed greens! Wow! I have never tasted greens with a sweet flavor to them. I would really like the recipe, so I can make mine just like it. All other things were on par-- service, complimentary bread. Kool vibe being in the art museum. The Gertie's crab cake was really good, boardwalk crab cake was just good. Service was a little slow because they were understaffed but our waitress was great and did the best she could. One of the few places that actually use local crab which is something I didn't know. Apparently it's so expensive that even local restaurants can't afford to use it. My quest for the worlds best crab cake continues. Probably wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Went to Gertrude's this summer. They had covered outdoor seating. It was decorated nicely and the tables were spaced out well. There were only two other parties there when I went. The waiter (can't remember his name) was friendly and attentive. He kept the drinks coming and gave great menu recommendations. I ordered the Eggs Gertrude with scrambled eggs instead of poached. Enjoyed the dish, crab cake went well with the eggs. They also had a specialty pancake that day that I cannot remember the name of. They were ok, really sweet. Although the food was adequate the bartender service was appalling. Upon approaching the bar, myself and other African American women, was ignored. The bartenders on Saturday, January 27th would not look our way, acknowledge or approach us on our side of the bar. After seeking assistance by one of most helpful and apologetic hostesses "Foxy", they still ignored us. I asked a passing by waitress if we were in the right place, or if we should shift, and she was rude and stated "they will get to you", this was after 5-minutes of waiting. The second bartender, instead of asking us if we were helped, left to do rounds on the main floor. We later found out they were the manage. When they returned and accidentally looked our way, and we waived them down, we were angrily served. Additionally, they (the manager) decided to make up a fake policy to try and prevent us from taking our drinks. I wish I could tag a reviewed, who look like me, a beautiful Black woman, to shine light on this negative experience. Primarily, because this behavior was prompted by simply our presence NOTHING else! To be there as a visitor, with an organization bringing exposure and revenue to the town and location this was very disappointing. DO BETTER read more

Gertrude's is located inside the Baltimore Museum of Art and lives up to its sophisticated reputation. The interior features classy dining areas and just outside the restaurant is a sculpture garden that you can roam around in! The menu options for brunch were pretty classic--think pancakes, chicken and waffles, and eggs benedict. I got the latter and was very happy with how the eggs were cooked as well as the side of potatoes. I can see myself returning to Gertrude's for a special occasion in the future! read more

I am completely smitten with this place! We came here for restaurant week and I was unexpectedly thrilled with all the food. We got the wine pairings and they were delightful as well. Appetizers were crab deviled eggs and the peach salad. I am infatuated with this salad! It was so good and I love the little touch of having the pecans coated in honey mustard powder. Deviled eggs are always a hit with us but the crab on top kicked it over the edge to amazing. Dinner was the Tilghman Island Platter and The Hangar Steak. Both were exceptional. My husband did say that he was slightly disappointed with the crab cake because it didn't have the big lumps that Marylanders expect. I agreed with him. My steak was on point, 5 stars, no question. They had a really great side of potato salad that was an unexpected surprise as well. For dessert we both got the candy bar. Chocolate mousse, caramel, macadamia nuts and I'm sure there's something else I'm forgetting. Seriously impressive. I even got one to go. There is a garden area around back for gatherings/parties. Got to finally grab weekend brunch at Gertrude's. Overall, it's a pretty cool setup with the location at the museum. We made reservations and were promptly seated on arrival. The patio area was closed for a private event, but we had a nice table by a window. Upon being seated we were given a bread basket with delicious biscuits and corn bread. I love when restaurants have free bread, and the buttery biscuits were amazing. We had some questions about the menu since some of the descriptions were vague, and we were disappointed to find that our waitress did not know the answer and just made up answers that were not accurate. I would prefer they check with the kitchen if they're not sure. They had a tofu scramble which is my favorite vegetarian/vegan breakfast dish. The potatoes were good and there was also a few pieces of fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered their Charcoal Pancakes which was one of their specials. They weren't the best pancakes, but an interesting flavor that was worth it for the experience. Overall, I don't think I had the best brunch in the world, but it was solid and I'd go back. read more

My man and I enjoyed a date night here 6/22/19. Made reservations for 6:30pm and we were seated immediately upon arriving. Nice! We planned to enjoy the outside sculpture garden but a special planned event was happening so inside was perfectly fine. Loved the cute table decor. Our waitress Liz was very accommodating. Helped us pick drinks we both thought we'd like. The cocktails were named after songs. I opted for "Always be my baby" lol I had to because who doesn't love Mariah Carey. The drink came in a dainty champagne flute and was very refreshing. We started with the shepherds pie croquettes which were very delicious! Came here for brunch before our scheduled walk through the museum. You have option to sit indoor or outside. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside. What a breathtaking view! There are sculptures throughout the garden, a pond/type situation a long with an outdoor garden area. Our service was pretty good, we had two waiters. The pork sausage was good. I really like the lamb gravy and biscuits although I do wish there was more gravy. The gravy is flavorful and the biscuits are soft and savory!! It's definitely a worthy choice. The home fries were a nice addition. I didn't grab a picture but I also had the homemade blueberry lemon club soda, very refreshing!!! We went here for brunch for my aunt's birthday, and we had a phenomenal time. The server was attentive and knowledgable. I had the oysters, we had a round of cocktails and various entrees. Everyone in our party was please and we can be kind of harsh critics. I loved the hand cut fries, and the burger. My mom had the crab quiche and it was much more than just a bunch of eggs with topping thrown in. I actually want to try it when we go back. Came to Gertrude's before a tour of the BMA (Baltimore Museum of Arts). I love a good brunch spot and Gertrude's is more than good...it's fabulous! Service is top notch. I love servers who smile and banter with you as they're taking your order. Every person we came in contact with had a genuine smile on their face. Our server asked if I liked mimosas, hello, I love them! She suggested the flight, 3 different types. Original, Blood Orange and Bellini. Blood Orange is my favorite. I even ordered a second separate glass of the Blood Orange. I did share, no way was I drinking 4 glasses of mimosas on a Sunday morning! The drinks are good size. First visit here for a 80th birthday brunch, but won't be my last visit. So nice and such good food. Arrived and received a nice basket of biscuits and muffins with butter and jelly, absolutely delicious and a nice way to start the brunch. After ordering drinks, we placed our food order. I ordered the Maryland red crab soup. It came out piping hot, with a yummy blend of seafood, vegetables and spices. Then ordered a special, soft shell crabs with eggs benedict. I ordered without the Hollandaise sauce as that sauce is too rich and generally doesn't sit well. They brought out a delicious plate of yummy goodness. After the meal, dessert was offered and accepted. Had the Gertrude's Candy Bar which I had to ask about. It was actually shaped like a candy bar and contained dark chocolate mousse, salted caramel, hazlenut crunch, caramelized hazelnuts and whipped cream on top. What an amazing and unique dessert. Expected it to be very sweet, but not at all. It was light and airy and was super good. All in all the meal and birthday celebration was fantastic. I ordered a crab cake and the Moroccan couscous on Postmates after seeing amazing reviews. My driver ended up being late and I got the wrong order. The food was very mediocre. Crab cake was decent. They gave me vegetarian crab cakes by mistakes and they were interesting. Very breaded but similar texture to crab cakes. Got green beans which were bland and Lo mein which was confusing and oily. Gertrude's was beautiful - sitting outside in the sculpture garden before it got too hot was delightful. They would do better with more fans, though, to circulate air. We were a large party of 9. Service was prompt and the food was good. I had the Eggs Gertrude which was poached eggs with crab cake bits and roasted tomato on English muffins with home fries, and a side of scrapple! The poached eggs were perfect but the rest of dish was pretty bland. The scrapple was fried perfectly - really the best part of the meal. The eggs were mediocre, and they looked cheap. The steak were horrendous. No flavor and really chewy. My wife ordered a Medium-Well and got a really Well done. Meanwhile I got some raw steak for my medium-rare. Yeah u can see on the plate one of the piece that I could not chew and needed to spit it out. Fries were soggy and had no flavors. We're always looking for new places to check out as we spend time with our son around the Loyola campus. This was originally recommended to us by a friend and alumnus for Easter Brunch but we weren't able to get a reservation then so we made one while back in town today. We sat in the greenhouse type area and really enjoyed an old school, all around lovely experience. Our waitress was super attentive and kind, all the main dishes and desserts were delicious especially the blueberry muffin french toast. Just didn't love the cornbread & biscuit which came out with our meal and were a bit dry or the mango mimosa which was mostly juice and not much bubbly. Parking was a small challenge with a few cars in our party, the lot isn't huge and after the first half hour there's a $9 charge. Street parking otherwise. We'll be adding this to our list of return to places! read more

What a lovely restaurant inside the Baltimore Museum of Art. A group of us enjoyed cocktails, appetizers, dinner, and dessert while seated on the tented patio in the sculptured courtyard. It is a beautiful setting with perfect lighting and a fountain. The food was AMAZING! I started with an Orange Blush cocktail and it was delicious. The complimentary hot roll and cornbread were hot and fresh. The Bee Hoss Buffalo Cauliflower is a must if you go to Gertrude's! So tasty and just the right amount of spiciness. I really enjoyed their summer peach salad and the lamb meatballs. We finished off the evening with more cocktails (the Saint Sangria hit the spot on this warm summer night) and the Summer Berry Nougatine Glacee. For such a lovely setting and "white linen" restaurant, the prices are surprisingly affordable. The service was attentive and personable. Six stars for drinks, food, and service!! read more

My family and I came here on a Sunday morning. We got a table around 10am, and although it was empty when we first arrived, it certainly filled up by the time we left. The have weekend specials on a separate menu, but on their main menu are they regular items. There are lots of options with crab and seafood, but then also the classic Chessie breakfast platters. Once you are seated, they bring you fresh whipped butter and a fruit jam along with mini corn muffins and biscuits. Service was great and the food was brought out quickly. Everything was very tasty and worth the price paid. The unfortunately thing was that they tried to pack the place with tables, and many times it was awkward to serve and the place was so packed we were uncomfortably close to the tables around us. We would definitely come back again. Free street parking on Sundays. But they also have a private lot. read more

Since it's been awhile since I've been to Gertrude's for a meal - and apparently never posted a review earlier - I'm going to solely focus on their Holiday Afternoon Tea this time around. I love afternoon tea. There's just something lovely about chatting over a leisurely cup of tea while partaking in tiny savory and sweet treats. I was excited to take the ladies in my family to such a nice atmosphere to experience this and was wowed at the prospects of the menu online. And the food was bound to be good since it was Gertrude's... ...but truth be told, I was a bit underwhelmed. The presentation was lovely, as was the service thanks to our great server Jeffrey. But something lacked from an execution standpoint, which was disappointing. Here's a rundown of the menu: The savories, in order of best to worst: - turkey, cranberry, and brie sandwich - cucumber and herb goat cheese (flavor was good but perhaps not as smooth as I would have expected) - salmon salad (could have used a touch of acid to help brighten) - crab beignet (honestly tasted just like hot cheesy lava) - asparagus, sage, and pancetta savory cake (utter salt bomb and not in a good way, bleh) The sweets, in order of best to worst: - Gertrude's Candy Bar - cranberry scone* - flourless chocolate cake - chocolate peppermint profiterole (per the menu but was really more of a tart) - lemon gingerbread cake - apple cinnamon shortbread - this was simply not good, the hard toasted coconut in a buttery cookie just didn't work texturally or flavor wise *the scone came with homemade apple butter, lemon curd, and Devonshire cream. The cream was so disappointing - it was effectively hard butter that was not subtly sweet as expected. The lemon curd tasted good but lacked that thick, luscious texture you want from curd. The apple butter was the best of the three but was a step above applesauce. Overall, it was a fine experience and nice to share with others who maybe have not had afternoon tea before and therefore had no basis for comparison. I don't know that I would partake in tea here again but look forward to my next brunch. read more

My sister had her birthday brunch here, lucky for us it was all you can drink mimosas and all you can eat pancakes, this was special that day only. They should do this menu special again. Very great place I can't wait to go back. The that hostess that checked us in was, very professional, she seated us right away. It best to make reservations, they get crowded. Very nice restaurant. The Christmas decorations was lovely. We had a great waiter, very helpful and attentive. The mimosa's was made with fresh squeezed orange juice, just delicious. The pancake bar was great, I really loved the eggnog whip cream was delicious. The parking is street parking, they do have a paid parking lot, but it is small and gets full fast. The restaurant is inside of the art museum and it was a decent restaurant. I enjoyed the food, not so much with the service. I had the spring and brunch special crab cake, which is very simple and fresh. It could feel too greasy towards the end, so the lemon (not the lemon butter tho!) came in handy. My friends who ordered the regular crab cake also enjoyed them. The ambiance is beautiful and relaxing. The tables were covered with paper and there are crayons available for you to draw. We were seated inside, although the patio and sculpture garden would be a much cooler experience (it was closed for a wedding). Our waiter did the bare minimum. He did not feel personal or attentive. 24$ salad. Slightly saved from disaster by the flavor of the delicious scallops. The 2 scallops. I didn't eat the "mixed local greens" which was just a yucky tasting bitter spring mix. Would have been much better with a bit more seafood and romaine or butter lettuce, maybe some other veggies to liven it up. The dressing wasn't very good either. I visited Gertrude's for lunch with a large group and was impressed by the attentive, great service; however, the food wasn't the best. I tried their Highlandtown Chicken Salad sandwich served with lemon orzo pasta salad. Neither the chicken salad nor the orzo salad were particularly flavorful. The chicken salad tasted like normal deli-style chicken salad, and the orzo salad didn't taste very fresh. I opted for the half sandwich and cup of soup lunchtime deal ($14). One of their soup specials was a gazpacho with pineapple, cucumber, and champagne, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try this unique-sounding combination. The soup, unlike the sandwich and salad, was remarkable. I hope that this soup makes another guest appearance at Gertrude's! This wasn't my first time at Gertrudes, nor will it be my last given its proximity to my work. I love the atmosphere at Gertrude's and feel that it's a good option for an upscale meal compared to all the cheap, college-oriented places nearby, but I feel that a little more attention could be given to the food to make this place truly stand out. read more

As many times as I've been to the BMA, it took me YEARS to try out Gertrude's at the strong recommendation (read: peer pressure) of my friend. I went the first time last year on an Friday night in August. We sat on the patio. It's a Chesapeake restaurant right so I ordered cream of crab soup and crabcakes. Both were equally delicious. Not a single piece of shell in sight, sweet and juicy perfection. We enjoyed a leisurely meal with great service, wine and conversation for hours. My next visits were in the same month but of this year. The first was for restaurant week and the second was for their Wednesday patio party (a summer happy hour series). Restaurant week was the piece de resistance. I had half and half as a starter; half Maryland crab and half cream of crab soups. Then the Chesapeake trout which was a whole crab stuffed fish with Cajun gravy. It was hard to photograph but is easily one of the best things I ate ALL year! I stopped, put my silverware down many times throughout the course and just stated aloud, "Wow, this is good!" The fish was tender and flaky, the crab was, per usual, tender and sweet and the gravy was basically essentially all the flavors of gumbo. It was so decadent yet so light and appropriate for a nice summer dinner. I want to eat it over and over again! A classic peach melba dessert completed the meal. Even the downpour that ensued couldn't dampen the meal. The patio party was very cute. There was music and It was open seating. We arrived early so we had our pick of tables. There was a selection of small bites for purchase including fried oyster sliders, mini crabcake bahn mi and burrata crostini. We enjoyed them all, but I think the crostini was the crowd favorite. There was also a selection of signature cocktails for $3. THREE DOLLARS! I can't remember the name of it, but the hibiscus cocktail stole the show. It was refreshing and not too sweet. Updated review: Sorry it took so long I've been here multiple times after my 1st visit and been in Love. Covid Update: The staff wears masks and gloves, you have to give your name and number to have on file just in case a a Covid outbreak happens, they take your temperature and you have to wear a mask if walking around the restaurant. They have indoor outdoor seating available. I would still make a reservation by calling I didn't today but I was able to get seated fast. I love their new hostess she is such a doll. Deep sighs* I hate leaving a bad review for a place that has awesome food but.... I recommend making reservations because this place can be packed. Today I noticed that they had an outside seating area which the last time I didn't see which is wonderful I love sitting outdoors. So it was 3 to my party including my daughter. They had a kids menu for brunch it's was simple but it worked. Their menu is awesome for lunch, and brunch! I love how this place is set up they have a bar area if you are not looking to sit in a table setting. The location is not big but it's not small either especially now there's outdoor seating. They have live piano playing while you eat which is adorable and when it's someone bday they play happy birthday instead of singing verbally. The menu prices are moderate just depends on what u get. Service- The reason why the stars are so low. My daughter was dying for pancakes before we got here so I ordered her food before we ordered ours so she can eat well after I finally ordered mine the waitress Roseanne comes back and tell me they are out of pancakes. (Angry face) why would you wait to tell me so late that y'all are out. So I asked when they making more she said they are just out. Now the children's breakfast menu is small so her other option was waffles. My daughter is young so of course she was crying about it so she didn't want anything so when she comes back I ask her is she sure there's no way she says no. Well after about 20 min I see a table getting pancakes so of course i lost it because this table was sat after we was and they have not been here before us. So we ask for the management. Well the manager had no clue what we was talking about so she went and checked on it and of course they had more batter. So the manager did give them to us complimentary. Now when you sit you get biscuits. We didn't get until we was in the middle of the food and that's only because we had to keep asking over and over. We asked for a glass of ice before we ordered food which she forgot. Now...what was really terrible was the waitress odor. I think she may have forgot to put on deodorant it was to the point we was praying she didn't come back over to us even though we rarely saw her. Food- Me and my friend had the crab omelette and it was amazing!! They give lots of crab meat and you get a side of potatoes. My picture I started eating it because I was so hungry I forgot to take the picture. My daughter said the pancakes was good even though It don't come with no kind of side just pancakes. I had a peach Bellini and I didn't like it I didn't taste the peach. I do plan on coming again so I'll update my review the next time I come. Hopefully the service will be different. read more

I was looking for a place near the office to grab lunch with a colleague who was in town. After a quick Yelp search this place came up and since it was within walking distance we went for it. We were surprised when we walked in since the museum was closed but the restaurant was still busy. Dispute the crowd we were sat right away and the wait staff was really attentive. I got a chicken sandwich and was completely satisfied.. The chicken was moist and delicious and the fries were perfect. While walking out I noticed a few desserts people were having that I want to be sure to check out next time I step in. I'm pretty happy I discovered this place so close to work and can't wait to take other co-workers to try it out. read more

Gertrude's has been a staple restaurant in Baltimore. It's in a beautiful setting - overlooking the sculpture garden at the BMA. The food leaves little else to be desired. They have great offerings for brunch, lunch, tea time, and dinner. If you're into seafood this is especially the place to visit. They offer great quality and a lovely ambiance with the glowing star sky and dreamy lights scattered throughout. They offer great veggie options - the black bean burger & goat cheese salad are always great choices. During restaurant week, they offered the ravioli with veggie Italian sausage. It was a great combo of sweet and savory. The food is 5/5 stars; however the service is a 3/5. The service I've experienced here is sub par for the food and prices that they serve. This unfortunately did impact my visit most recently but would not stop me from returning. Plenty of street parking if the lot is full. read more
