I came in for a consultation and had great conversations with the staff. Super friendly and professional at the Crandford office. After the consultation I was so excited and impressed with all the reviews and knowledge the orthodontist had, so I scheduled myself to get my braces on. After getting them on, (I've had braces before years ago) I received a phone call from the orthodontist checking in to see how I'm feeling and if everything was ok and I was like "wow" as a kid I never got that type of treatment and I was happy that the staff checked in on me. I visited the Westfield location and it was very nice and clean. It's the same staff in this location, the receptionist at the front is super nice and bubbly. I would proceed with extreme caution. If you're thinking about getting any orthodontic work done, I would try to get at least two different opinions before booking with this establishment. Time and money was spent on getting my teeth fixed to then being discharged with gaps in my teeth. Dr Gersch's excuse was that they would close on their own. What started happening was that the gaps got larger and my teeth stated to shift. It really upsets me, that as patients we put our trust in doctors who then trick you into thinking that everything is ok, when really it's not. This establishment is too busy trying to get the client (because to them we're $$$ signs) then actually being doctors and helping their patients. This is the best place in all NJ to have your braces done. The staff here are very warm and friendly. There is no wait time and they are very flexible with appointment times. The waiting area is very spacious, clean and entertaining for the kids with video games and large screen TV's. There is lots of comfortable seating never have to wait standing up. Not to mention the state of the art technology. I would highly recommend Dr. Gersch to everyone he is very professional and works great with children. My son Aris had his braces here. Terrible. Greedy people just trying to get paid without caring about the consequences. My son used these unethical doctors as a child and as as result needed corrective jaw surgery in his early twenties because of the damage his adolescent orthodontics treatment did to him. Rather than correctly treating his minor problem when he was young and still growing they made it significantly worse by doing orthodontic camouflage. Convenient for them, that way you're in and out in the quickest amount of time. They never mentioned any of this to me during treatment. As a result his jaws grew incorrectly and could only be surgically corrected. They do not care at all about your children. Use at your own risk and stay away. 1/27/2020 update: There is no need for your help at this stage, jaw surgery (orthognathic) already happened. I wish my story was fake and we happily forgot about each other by now. Fact of the matter is when someone finishes orthodontic treatment and has their skeletal problems worsened from before. And then when the pre-jaw surgery orthodontics round needs significant orthodontic de-compensation, meaning orthodontic movements to undo previous INCORRECT treatment. Well then you can't call that a success. And before I forget. In the pre-jaw surgery consults, you recommend an orthodontic only plan to fix things while every other orthodontist consultation recommended jaw surgery. You just wanted to avoid admitting fault rather than correctly treating a patient. read more

Highly recommend Gersch Orthodontics and echo all the compliments mentioned in the other reviews. I am a 30-something mother of three who became a patient in order to do Invisalign. I initially planned on shopping around to see who had the best prices, but after my initial consultation with Dr Gersch I knew I didn't need to look any further. Gersch Orthodontics is simply the best. The Westfield location is excellent and has the friendliest staff. I have continually been impressed with their customer service and helpfulness. Additionally, at nearly every appointment I have had at least two of my young children with me and I have never felt they were an inconvenience, as I have at other medical offices. Dr Gersch always talks to my kids and even makes toys for them by blowing up rubber gloves and drawing faces on them. They love it! As a mom who is usually stressed out by having to take my kids to doctor appointments, I really, really appreciate the kid-friendly attitude and the extra attention. It is very apparent that patient satisfaction is high on their list of priorities and I have a feeling they have few or zero unsatisfied clients. As for my own teeth, the Invisalign process couldn't have been easier. I am certainly pleased with the results and will let others know. Furthermore, if we are still in this area when my kids are ready for braces, I will not hesitate to bring all of them to Gersch Ortho for all of their orthodontic needs. read more

"Your daughter's smile lights up the room." That says it all for me. We took my daughter to Gersch Orthodontics some time ago. Her teeth were crooked and she felt bad about it. Now, she is so happy with how she looks. Doctor Gersch was terrific! My daughter felt at ease from the very beginning. Everything was so professional. The staff was so cheerful, and everything about the office is welcoming. My daughter was always seen in a very reasonable timeframe from when we arrived. Dr. Gersch was very upbeat and explained everything. He was very professional and patient with my daughter. Of course, the most important thing is the result. If my case is so impossible, I should have been told that upfront. My midline is also completely off. To this day I am still completely upset and want it known that I am not happy with the service or outcome of my teeth. For all of the money spent, I would have expected a better outcome instead of being brushed under the rug. When I have to smile for pictures, I still don't want to show my teeth and I thought Dr. Gersch would help me instead of allowing me to still walk around with crooked/unaligned teeth my entire life. I would highly recommend Dr. Gersch and his entire staff for your orthodontic needs. I thought my only option to correct my bite was jaw surgery, which was recommended by another orthodontist in town. Thankfully Dr. Gersch informed me that I could fix my bite without jaw surgery using Invisalign. He referred me to an oral surgeon who pulled one of my teeth and then Invisalign did the rest. He even made sure to expedite the process so that I'd be happy with my smile by the time my wedding happened. It feels strange going to an orthodontist as an adult, but I always felt comfortable at their Westfield and Cranford offices. I had my teeth done here twice; once when I was in grade school, the 2nd time when I was in high school. 20 years later and my teeth are still completely messed up. Dr Gersch assured my mother that he could perfectly straighten my teeth without having to pull any of my molars. The second time I had my braces removed my teeth still flared out in a very obvious overbite, something I'm very sensitive of. But of course the Dr said everything looked great. I think not. Also, there was one appointment I had where the Dr yelled at me very unprofessionally in front of his entire office of employees and patients. I admit I walked into his office chewing gum, something that you're not supposed to do when you have braces. But I was completely humiliated, and I was only 15 years old, and dealing with a very serious issue at home of my mother having only months left to live after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and she died a few months later. My older sister was there in the office with me that day and she can attest to the face that I was very rudely yelled at in front of the entire office. The doctor could have handled that better and in a much more professional manner. But he did not. I wore all of my retainers after my braces were removed for the second time, but still my teeth shifted back to being crooked. Sad how they took my mother's money TWICE and I still have to deal with this sensitive issue YEARS LATER. My teeth have given me a lot of problems over the years and I wish I had gotten a second opinion from another doctor. Currently, I'm seeking new treatment at a cosmetic dentist in New York City that I'm confident will be able to help me deal with my myriad of dental and craniofacial issues. I'm sure Dr. Gersch is great for other patients, but for me, I've been left EXTREMELY disappointed. read more

Gersch Orthodontics has proven to be the best around! Both my children and I have had our teeth straightened by Drs. Stan & Scott Gersch. I did Invisalign while my children did traditional braces and we now have perfect smiles and bites. Every visit has been enjoyable because the staff is very efficient and friendly, and the doctors are perfectionists and know exactly what is needed. They are both professional, nice to be with and I completely trust their judgement. My Invisalign treatment went exactly as was explained to me and I am thrilled with my results. Both my children had different appliances, according to what the doctors had explained to me. Treatment went exactly as planned. The office is beautiful. It was very recently renovated with state-of-the-art equipment and a game area with iPad stations. They also hold fun contests periodically throughout the year. At 56 years old, I now have the teeth I've always wanted, thanks to Gersch Orthodontics. The staff was wonderful every single time I went there. The office is clean, beautiful and up to date with the most modern equipment. They have parties (was sad I missed the ice cream party) and the staff dresses for events, such as the Super Bowl. It's so cute how they do that. Something that kids, and some adults lol, really enjoy. But most of all, my teeth look GREAT. I loved my Invisaligns.
