I had the best time at my Photography session with my cats!…read more Jonathon, the photographer (not sure if I spelled his name correctly), was amazing and so sweet, soft spoken, and patient. Laura was super warming and friendly, we really connected with each other because we own the same cat breed adopted through an animal shelter. Overall, amazing experience! I wish I could've gone all out and gotten the larger portrait sized, but unfortunately not in the best financial position right now. I was able to get the framing and an 8x10 of just my 2 cats. So happy and grateful to have seen this opportunity on my Facebook feed.

I had a family portrait done 17 years ago. There are things I really do not like about Kramer. The…read morefirst is there strict policy of not sharing anything digital. Yes, I get that there "real" product is a combination of a digital foundation with a human touch of finishing, but I still, I personally like to have the source material and this is simply not going to happen here. Also, there pricing and marketing. 17 years ago I remember getting a discount offer on the purchase of a luxury car. It seemed significant, but I do not recall exactly where the sticker shock came in with the process, but post sitting we were in it deep enough to just say yes to the price. Over the years the portrait faded. And, not all of it. For some reason the skin tone of the faces faded whereas the arms did not. It was never placed in direct sunlight and even if it was this doesn't seem like a pure exposure issue since it was selective fading. Moving out of state and thinking about moving the portrait I wondered why I should even worry about taking it as it was really that bad. For some reason I thought about reaching out to Kramer. The hardest part of the process was getting a response from Facebook Messenger. It seemed to be the only digital method of contact and I really wasn't in the mood to waste time on the phone. Eventually, I got someone's ear and that turned into speaking with the owner. Okay, with all of this so far, you would think this would be a one star review! Well, eventually they found the original digital file which predated a change in their systems which made it harder than it should be, but they found it. Then, replacing it wasn't even a conversation. The only question they asked is if it was in the original frame. It was, so that made things easier. It took a while to get it back but the result was amazing and possibly better than new. This made the cost, the lack of personally having the digital backup, etc, all secondary. And, no, the photo I posted with this review is not the portrait in question! This review is posted to the Hillsborough and Red Bank locations since the original sitting was in Hillsborough (along with the faded drop off) and the new pickup was in Red Bank.

Kristen to the rescue! Kristen came up on a random google search, promptly responded to my email and I crossed my fingers we ended up with some good photos. I could not have imagined what an absolute joy it was to meet her and what amazing memories she captured! It was a small backyard party but Kristen was so professional and thorough - it mattered as much to her as a huge wedding. She was amazing with the small children and even better with the nervous in front of the camera grandparents! Kristen took pictures of every detail, the "big" moments and more importantly the small moments. Having a baby during covid meant that we missed out on capturing some of his first year with family and friends. Thankfully I know have a TON of amazing photos that bring a huge smile to my face whenever I look at them (which is still quite often). I often have annoyingly high standards but Kristen surpassed them, she is a true gem. I look forward to working with her in the future, thank you Kristen!

John and his partner brought a level of energy and enthusiasm that went well beyond expectations; he made our family and bridal party feel so at ease, and I got at least 3 requests for his information! But the most important part of course, the photos. Which are so stunning, evocative and rich that I get emotional every time I see them. I love having such a breathtaking record of our special day. Run, don't walk to John!

After finishing our beers, we journeyed across the street and were greeted by the lovely Lovina. After seeing the work and meeting her we were impressed, but she insisted we make an appointment to come back and meet John so we could get a better feel for the company as a whole. She was very helpful and up-front about availability and pricing, so after we set our date two weeks later I contacted them immediately to set up an appointment. John and Lovina worked around my schedule and met us late on a Thursday night since I commute in and out of the city and they were busy on the weekends with weddings. They spent over an hour and a half talking through our wedding ideas, learning about our venue, getting to know our personalities and showing us various examples of their work. Never once did we feel rushed or pressured in any way. My fiance hates posing and pushy photographers he's dealt with in the past for friend's weddings. When we let John know this, he was quick to explain that he will do only what we want and he is fast with the posed family shots, bridal party, etc. We were so impressed with them that we booked them the next day and are taking them with us to Wilmington, Delaware next April! Our engagement pictures were phenomenal and John did a great job of capturing us with natural expressions while also integrating some artistic and posed shots into the mix. He met with us on 4th of July weekend after shooting THREE weddings and was still energetic as could be, which made the whole experience a fun time. We cannot wait to work with him on our wedding day!
