Les mots à la bouche has everything a gay reader could wish: social theory and the history of drag, emerging queer novelists and the inspiring works of James Baldwin, Gertrude Stein, Edmund White, Jean Cocteau. It is the one indispensable stop for the queer traveler/ reader in Paris. Plenty of books in English, too. Afterwards you can go to Père Lachaise and drop in on Oscar Wilde. Dear Oscar. Best record buying experience in Paris. Are you looking for original pressings? Hard to find or…read morerare LPs... this is the spot. The prices are a little high, but everything is in great condition... and it's a brick and mortar shop... I don't mind paying a little extra for the experience of digging and finding something "in the wild" that I've been searching for. The owner was amazing. Such a nice guy... you can tell he's liked in community around him as well. People walking by waved to him and he had a couple friends stop by who were also super friendly. We talked music and travel. I highly recommend the shop. Go in. Buy some records. Talk. Hang out. Good stuff.
