I love, love, LOVE Geppy shoes. I lived in Rome for several years in the late 90s, and would wander past the shop and admire their all-leather shoes. I"ve been back many times since and always stop at Geppy Shoes, cause the place holds for me such a quintessential essence of Italian beauty, sense of fashion, and craftsmanship. The prices were a little more than I'd pay back in the US, but I quickly realized that the shoes at Geppy (some, seems to me, that bore the Geppy name itself) were true works of Italian craftsmanship. This is for the tourists: If you want beautiful Italian shoes, don't waste your time shopping at pricier places near, say, Piazza di Spagna, and DON'T settle for shoes that have sythentic linings or footbeds. And PLEASE don't buy shoes in Italy that were made in China!! No way. Stop at Geppy (just a quick walk from Stazione Termini) and you'll discover the lush smell of real leather shoes, with amazing quality of leather, and hopefully, like me, you'll support this fantastic business and allow the tradition of lovely, Italian shoes to continue (and not to be ransacked by the influx of Chinese products that lack the spirit of Italian goods!! ... no disrespect to the Chinese, but PLEASE, this is ITALY!! read more
