Just had an outstanding training session through work with Ben Karp. I learned so much and feel comfortable in an emergency that I could begin CPR if necessary. The basics of CPR and use of an AED were explained and gone over and demonstrated enough that I can remember the key procedures. We all practiced on the dummies and that made a difference too. Additionally we learned some basics of other situations (falls, heat sickness, bleeding, seizures, strokes, head injuries and more) - and what to do or not to do. Ben is clearly knowledgeable and compassionate and understands that real life situations vary from classroom experiences, but left us all feeling secure that we can use the principles demonstrated in an emergency. I just had my cpr class with Ben yesterday and I'll say it was very comprehensive. I've never had this training prior, but I feel pretty confident with my new knowledge. I run a local Pub in Decatur and I'll tell you I've had several scenarios where I felt helpless when a guest was in need with diabetic related issues, and seizures, and while I don't look forward to utilizing my new skill set I am ready should anything occur. I felt that the training was very straightforward and the hands on aspect was great for "real time" scenarios. This training is perfect for restaurant owners and especially floor managers. With my extended family having a lot of children, and people with medical issues, I wanted to put together a CPR training session so that we would feel better prepared in the case of a medical emergency. Through a Google search I came across Georgia CPR and am so thankful that I did! The owner, Ben, was very responsive and flexible while setting up our CPR/First Aid training. Our instructor, Chandler, was able to come out to our subdivision's clubhouse (on a Sunday!) and kept all eight of us participants engaged and informed. My company has contracted with Ben for many years now and he is consistently engaging and interesting as an instructor. The CPR/AED/First Aid course is comprehensive and thorough. It takes about half a day although Ben makes it seem so much shorter with his technique and skills as a teacher. The course is invaluable and enjoyable as well.
