These people are straight up SCAM artists. I am an AAA Plus member. Needed to have our car towed yesterday from an accident scene. One of the benefits of my AAA membership is FREE TOWING up to 100 miles. George's SCAM artists demanded I pay them $150.00 because police were on the scene. Police were on the scene becasue my husband is a Harford County Sheriff and they were there out of courtesy to me. No other reason. When I called AAA they made no mention of owing the $150. Kudos to Georges!! AAA Central PA contacted United TIre the local AAA tow... they refused to take our car 31 miles to our preferred shop despite being a plus member. AAA suggested we pay outta pocket and try for a reimbursement... SO .....I contacted Georges as the next local tow and they scheduled a picked up of vehicle and drove away minutes later. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of George's Custom Towing. These people are predators that take advantage of people in their time of need. On the telephone they told me that they accept credit cards or cash. They do not accept personal checks. I can understand that. However, it was not until I received my itemized invoice that I saw that they charge a $14.00 "service fee" for using your credit card. Had she told me that on the phone, I would have had the option to stop at an atm. Not only do they charge a per mile charge, they also charge a fuel surcharge. My tow bill was $504.28! I would also give a zero star if it was an option. Stay clear!! They make a bad situation worse. read more

He was extremely professional and treated my car with extreme care. Once my call was placed, it was less then 10 minutes before the business contacted me and Chris was on his way to pick up my car. If I could give them a 0 I would I had 2 flat tires today on 2 different cars One I left on my driveway and one I got towed I called AAA to get my tire changed and was sent George's custom towing This individual came to my driveway from the get go with attitude wanted to see some ID I produced my AAA card, then he said he needed to see a photo ID. I showed him my license and AAA card and asked him what the concern was as I had a car towed earlier and it was not an issue He accused me of being rude and told me he could leave and not fix my car I told him to do whatever he needed to. Used to be much more professional, now it is hit or miss depending on the driver you get. I have had no issues, but a friend was threatened with impoundment and refusal to take the car to the shop requested unless they paid the driver an additional $175.00 on an AAA claim. Georges needs to investigate what their employees are doing before AAA decides to drop their contract. read more

I was in an auto accident, and the state trooper said I could not call AAA, I had to use their tow truck company. They were quick to come get my car. They tow 24/hrs but keep business hours when you need to get your car back. 8-5 and you have to call them 45 min before you come to your car if it's located at their 2705 Belair rd lot ( which they must rent because no one on site can open the gate where your car is located. Not to mention if my car wasn't totaled due to the accident it was totaled by the time tegu too it to their lot. Would give no stars if I could. They help make a stressful situation even worse. read more

I will not be using George's Custom Towing every again. Within a week period I had to have my truck towed due to mechanical issues. The first time my truck was taken to the wrong repair shop, and I only found out when I called to check the status of my truck and they said it wasn't there. I called George's and they figured out where it was. Owners and staff were apologetic. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called them again a few days later when I needed a tow again. The dispatcher told me the driver was leaving their shop (only about a mile away) and would be there in a "few". Almost 45 mins later he arrived. I told him it was not a battery issue and not to try to jump it and if he could get it to the auto shop asap so they could try to read the computer codes. He nodded. I proceeded to go grocery shopping since I was on the store parking lot when my truck died. When I came out of the store 45mins later the driver was finally starting to get my truck ready to put on his tow truck as he said he has tried to jump it. When it arrived at auto shop the driver's window vent guard had been smashed and broken and I found a piece of it on the back seat floor board. I left a message with the dispatcher that I wanted to speak to a supervisor about the damage. She said she would have someone call. Several days later I still did not hear from them so I stopped into their business and asked for a supervisor or owner to call me. Still nothing, so I emailed the business email and it has been over a month and NO ONE has called me. I had been a fan of this business but I will never use them again! BEWARE!!!!!! read more
