Although the George Thomas Hospice charity shop is not as well presented as its counterparts, it still offers a fairly wide range of clothing, toys and books.
The selection of bric-a-brac isn't as extensive as I had hoped, although there were a few packed shelves with "Everything is a £1.00" labelled on the ledges. I did manage to find a small tub of 12-inch records, but after a quick flip through found nothing I'd want to buy, unfortunately.
I was struck by the amount of men's clothing on display - suits, jackets, coats, trousers - normally charity shops seem to cater to female shoppers, but I'd definitely say George Thomas was male-orientated. There's also a high shelf displaying a wide selection lampshades, if you're in need of a light bulb cover.
The trio of ladies manning the shop were charming, adding a welcomed chirpy tête-à-tête to the otherwise silent shop floor. read more
