It's very hard to find a competent boat mechanic in the St. Simon's island area…read more Brian's great. Super helpful, and very knowledgeable. I was dealing with an electrical issue causing my boat to trip the breaker on the dock power. I actually called two other mechanics first, and left messages and texts that were never replied to. Thanks Matt, Gary, and the whole team who dealt with a supply chain delay outside of your control with care and professionalism. The team worked diligently to get things done well in a timely manner aware we were in alternate housing that was time-limited. BLM boatyard is a fine yard with skills, common sense, courtesy, decent rates; we recommend them. What we did: a new shaft with all it's accompanying accessories & alignment [clearly - something "got us" somewhen/somewhere]. Now, Shank's Mare is going back where she belongs; H2O. And while our "cruising kitty" is a wee bit lighter, we are gonna be so pretty for the fishies and confident in our equipment. FYI: no living onboard while in the yard - short-term rentals available via VRBO/AirBnB/hotels.
