I'm over Genji. Their food is decent, don't get me wrong, but the customer service stills are incredibly lacking/ non-existent. I've never continuously had the issues I've had at Genji at any other All You Can Eat Sushi restaurant. I've never once gotten every item I've ordered; they just don't give you things. And, they always seem to give you something you didn't order, or something they've already given you. It's so strange and frustrating. I also feel very rushed, in a span of 2 minutes during my last visit the same server asked if I was ready to order - giving me no time to even look at the entire menu. If you want AYCE sushi in Dartmouth, go to Mizu instead.

I like Genji Sushi. I'm giving them a 4 out of 5. They have delicious sushi and it arrives quick. I love the fact that they send the rolls out one by one as their ready. I find them fast and efficient. The seating is comfortable however I personally appreciate booths as I find them more private. We ordered countless rolls all delicious! Con: they had sent me a $5 off coupon for Checking in with yelp. The waiter told me they can't honor it as it's a promo from 2014.... but maybe it should have been removed as we expected $5 off as per the advertisement. It's just good business principles to follow through... I have attached a picture to show the "discount" I could not use. All in all I would recommend them!

This is an odd choice for someone who doesn't like sushi. I really don't enjoy sushi but genji has such a huge variety of other options. They have Thai and Japanese options. They also have chicken and steak bites which is super enjoyable. My friends always enjoy the sushi - it comes out beautifully presented and they say it tastes delicious. They aren't as strict as other places. If you don't like it, just explain to them why you don't like it (for example, if the Thai is too spicy). The vegetables are very fresh and surprisingly full of flavour. The waitresses are very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is so much fun and casual. I love that you can see the guys making the sushi right there and al the seafood that they use it on display. Definitely a nice touch!! I love genji and I'll definitely be back!

I have waited for a AYCE Sushi place to open in Dartmouth for a while, which makes me actually wonder why I didn't knock the doors down on this place opening day. We were greated by a very friendly server who walked us across the dinning room to a table near the kitchen doors, after surviving the trek accross the floor which btw is slippery as a greased pig (be careful) she explained the lunch menu and tried to decode how the ordering process worked, still dazed and confused but hungry we decided to just mark down some X's on the sheet and let it begin. We placed the first order with the server which had a combination of Spicy Tuna Rolls, Rainbow Rolls and BBQ Eel, not really knowing what to expect will come through those curtains our order hit the table fast and furious, which I will admit was suprising and a bit disconcerning at the same time. The Sushi was good quality, not the same you would find at Himachi or Sushi Nami but better than other well known AYCE's in the area, but hey at $14.99 it's hard to complain and it felt like we got our moneys worth. At the end of the meal we agreed its easy to point out the flaws and short comings of Genji but we realized that we just devoured close to $75-$100 worth of Sushi for about the same price as a value meal at McHappy's. Yelpers here some advice about how you should look at this place, if your looking for a prestigous Sushi place to enjoy the "Art" of Sushi making then it's safe to say this place is NOT for you, on the other hand if your hungry and want to take down some serious Sushi then I would recommend Genji and will be back.

I've been here twice and it always feels very homey. The warm and spicy broth of the Hokkaido ramen…read moreis a must and they are very generous with their portions, especially the pork in the ramen. The sushi is always amazing, I recommend the salmon maki and the tuna, so fresh and tasty. Our server was very friendly and we had a nice conversation! Overall such a great experience and she even gave us some complimentary sweet potato tempura! The pricing was also very reasonable... go check it out

However; my last three orders from them have been terrible and costly. The first time, I ordered the king crab, which was markedly more expensive and received imitation. I ordered tuna belly and they asked to replace it with tuna with no compensation for the difference in cost after I agreed. I swept this under the rug. The next order; as an appetizer I ordered softshell crab appetizer, they sent the roll, again I swept it under the rug. This third order was the straw that broke the camels back: I'm done. My order compared to what I got, is in in the pictures. Ordered spicy salmon roll - got Tuna Maki. Ordered Negi-Hamachi (suppose to be yellow tail and green onion), got a salmon roll. Not maki with avocado or even tempura bits; just rice and salmon. Vast cost difference. I got the Alaskan roll I ordered, but that is mine and the other two are my kids rolls, so I clearly won't eat in front of them. I'm done. Something is seriously wrong there and at this point it's a waste of money.
