Even if you aren't local, it's a cozy and modern place with comfortable seating, several private rooms and an uplifting environment. I love studying here and like to switch up the room or seating area I choose to study at just for a change of pace. They have private rooms and comfortable seating both on the main floor and upstairs level as well as handicap accessible bathrooms and water dispensers on both the floors too. They also have a few outdoor seating spots for outdoor studying too. The few times I interacted with the staff have always been positive experiences, as they are friendly and quick to greet. I really appreciate how this library has a children's learning center too, that you can see on your right hand side as soon as you pass the main entrance. Side note, I have had no issues with the WiFi not working either--important! So if you're looking for a cozy place to study, or have a meeting, or just relax that has plenty of sunlight and open window access, then definitely visit the Flint Public Library!

As student bookstores go, it's pretty well run and fairly well-organized. This student-run store is conveniently located to campus, near plenty of dining options both in and off campus, as well as residence housing, classrooms, administration offices, the recreation center, university library, parking, and more. The pavilion houses a typical food court area, plus there are numerous restaurants and bars across the street. As for parking, there is a flat lot across the street, an adjacent parking garage and ample spaces to park up and down Saginaw Street, as well as campus parking lots designated for students and staff only. Prices can be downright sky high for pretty much anything and everything, from textbooks to supplies, but who are we kidding? This is the campus/student bookstore, so it's not like you're going to a regular bookstore. Prices on everything are jacked because it's a student bookstore and everyone knows that going in. The best bet is to pick up as many used textbooks as you can for your classes and just suck it up. Textbooks and assorted supplies, like notebooks, journals, blue book essays, etc cost almost as much as tuition. As for book buy-back rates? As with every other student bookstore out there, it sucks, but depending on who is working, you might be able to finagle a better deal than you would otherwise, but always be prepared to get something like $8-$12 back for a brand-new philosophy or history textbook that cost you $170 and was barely cracked open all semester. Sigh, it's the nature of the beast.

They have great events for kids and adult programs, too. I went to a cooking demo here last year and it was packed. I learned so much. I think the staff is great. They treat my kids so well and did not get upset my autistic child threw a tantrum. I got some great new movies to watch for the week last night and they allow you to rent a ton without putting them on a hold.

There's a lot of reasons this University is world renown. Many of the most highly regarded leaders…read morein business, agriculture, and even tech for their education here. The professors are not always the traditional idea of how you might think of teachers and that's likely for the best. They teach at the forefront of modernity rather than relying on books that are often outdated by the time they're printed, though they do use the relevant parts as supplement to the core of the content. The enormous campus has housing and almost never cancels class. There's all kinds of events all year round and plenty of student clubs. Thankfully the long walks are made easier on the winter by the skywalks the have between buildings and the shuttle bus around campus. The downtown location is also beneficial for taking care of business between or after classes. And there's plenty of parking no matter what building you're going to, and you can even use it on days you don't have class if you have business downtown. Overall it's the best school around and if you're lucky enough to get in you won't regret it.

I had a very frustrating experience with UM-Flint regarding tuition charges for 3 terms I was not…read moreaware I was even registered for. After initially enrolling, I dropped my classes and stopped pursuing enrollment at the university. I did not register for future terms, did not attend classes, did not participate in coursework, and believed I was no longer enrolled. Later, I discovered that I was being held financially responsible for Summer 2024 tuition and fees. I submitted a petition/appeal explaining that I was not aware I had been registered and therefore had no way of knowing I needed to meet any withdrawal or refund deadlines. The university approved the withdrawal request but still refused to adjust the tuition and fees, meaning they are continuing to hold me financially responsible for classes I did not knowingly register for or attend. In my opinion, this process has been extremely unfair and confusing. If a student is not aware they are enrolled, it is unreasonable to expect them to know about deadlines for dropping or withdrawing. I also feel the university should be able to provide clear proof of how and when the student registered, whether there was any academic participation, and why tuition charges remain valid. I would strongly recommend that students carefully monitor their accounts and get everything in writing, because my experience has been that resolving enrollment and billing issues after the fact is very difficult. This situation has caused unnecessary stress and financial burden, and I am disappointed with how it has been handled.

It is one of the most-used libraries in the Genesee District Library system (19 libraries throughout the county) and provides a wide variety of materials and services to users from Flushing, Flushing Township, and Clayton Township. The library provides books, audio-books, DVDs, and more for all interests and levels, from toddlers to octogenarians and beyond. Always check the new fiction and non-fiction selections just inside the front door to see what the staff have picked out -- I find three or four every time I stop in.

Kettering University's rec center has everything you need but most equipment is dated. They did…read morerecently get a new pec deck, leg extension, and a stair master. They have also expanded their weight room with an auxiliary weight room which feels very open. The pool is very well maintained but the hot tub closes down frequently. The rec center also has 2 basketball courts and 2 extra courts used for tennis, pickle ball, badminton, and futsal. They also have 2 rachet ball courts and a squash court. There is also a 200m curved indoor track. The rec center will get the job done but nothing is too special.
