Generics Pharmacy has the gall to actually open shop at the very same building as the gigantic Mercury Drug in the Philcoa area, and I think it pays off rightfully so. It's situated around the corner from the bigger pharmacy/grocery and they're basically the same block.
PROS: The price of the exact same medication that I regularly buy from Mercury is cheaper by a few pesos; When I ride a tricycle to Philcoa from Teachers Village, it basically stops in front of it. No need to weave through the crowd. Jump off, then jump back on a trike; There is no queue. I guess it helps that the bulk of the consumers flock to the bigger pharmacy.
CONS: It has a smaller space, so you buy outside like you do to a sari-sari store. Then the pharmacists give you what you need; There's no air conditioning inside. Don't medicines need to be stored at a certain temperature to maintain their effectiveness?
TL;DR: I'd rather buy my drugs here because it's quicker and less crowded. read more
