The other review left for this church is from the pastor, and is laughable! If I could give it a 0--I would! This church is not a 5-star experience. I was truly disappointed with my visit. After what I saw online, especially Facebook video clips from the pastor, I was actually looking forward to our visit here. Visiting a church, whether you are a saint or a sinner, is one of the most intimidating experiences (reminiscent of the first day of school as the new kid). What immediately alleviates that awkwardness is the warm welcomes and friendly smiles that greet you throughout your visit. Well, that didn't happen. This was the WORST--THE ABSOLUTE WORST--first visit to any church that I have ever experienced, and the COLDEST reception by a congregation that I have ever received. Upon entry, we were not greeted at the front desk (it was empty). We waited around for a little bit, but no one was of assistance to us. During this time, I couldn't help but notice the dirty appearance of the floor. We eventually made our way to the Worship Center where we were greeted with a hug. It is important to mention that this was of an official nature (her nametag said "hugger") so it was not genuine. She presented us with no information about the church. After finding a seat, I couldn't help but notice the stale odor of cigarettes in the sanctuary. I tried to ignore the smell. It was hard to ignore... it was also hard to ignore the fact that NO ONE was interacting with us. Five minutes prior to service, a man came on the platform to lead the group in prayer (only 5 minutes???). After that, the worship began. Finally, during one of the songs, a woman made her way to us and asked if our children would like to go to Sunday school. Since she made no mention of a nursery for my little one, I assumed there was not one. An announcement also alluded to the fact that there was not one, or wouldn't be one (???). In the end, someone mentioned that there WAS a nursery. However, by the sheer incompetence of the staff, I think it is safe to say that my little one was better off in MY care. Anyway, the preaching was decent. Whether it was good or not was overshadowed by the horrible experience we had. Afterward, we left the sanctuary where we were handed a connect card--with no connection! No handshake, no hello--NOTHING! Just a stoic "here" with card extended. As we made our way to the car, through the lobby, NO ONE approached us. Both pastors were in the lobby, but neither made an effort to approach any guests. There was a man in front of us who was also handed a connect card, and was not approached either. To me, that says, "We don't need you. We are fine with the members we have." The pastor did state that the vision of the church is to multiply; however, his actions are contradictory! I have visited many churches, and pastors practically jump off the platform to make a beeline to the guests! This was not the case. I felt it was necessary to leave this review because the pastor said that he expects empty seats to be filled and the church to multiply. What a lofty goal! In my opinion that's IMPOSSIBLE if your guests don't feel welcome. A nonchalant attitude towards guests is not going to win souls. It will only result in blood on your hands! First impressions are EVERYTHING! Most times, it is the only chance you get. In my case, it IS the only chance. I will never return to this church, or recommend it to others. My family and I are looking for a church home, and promptly crossed this one off the list! read more
