I wanted my living room, hallway, ceilings, and kitchen ceiling painted. Within maybe a day or two they had come to my house to do an estimate (adorable couple by the way!), and I got on their schedule and it was done within a week. Just recently I had electrical work done in living room that required replacing wallboard/patching walls and ceiling, and then it all had to be painted. Which of course reminded me I wanted my bedroom painted...and then another room. I texted Laila to ask if Flávio was available to come give an estimate and like magic he was here! His crew was currently working on an outside project, and he asked if we could schedule soon on a day when rain was predicted. I said sure and then within a week he was at my house with two others. The two others (Fabricio and Eduardo) were introduced to me, and then they came in with masks and set up draping etc. During the process, some issues were noticed. Flávio showed me that some additional work needed to be done and I approved. I like that they are meticulous and want things done correctly. The crew was at my house for four days...the first two from 8am - 7pm! Hard workers for sure...and they got a lot done in four days. He took video and photos to document his work and also repaired some exterior trim and interior drywall damage. He also alerted me to where I was in need of new gutters, based on wear of existing painted clapboard siding. Additionally, he was able to clean mold in the bathroom and tune up the bathroom ceiling fan prior to painting. His team also repaired some exterior carpenter ant damage, and I was able to get pest control services in the spot needed thanks to his videos. His crew arrived on time every day, was minimally invasive, and very friendly. They got the job done in a week, despite one day of rain when they couldn't work. Although it's only been a week, the paint job looks great. Thiago is incredibly responsive, which is rarely the case with contractors. After the job, a phone line had been left dangling (not a big deal). I texted Thiago, and within a couple of hours, it was fixed. We got 3 bids for the job, and Thiago's Painting was by far the best value. Every detail was done with so much care, and our house looks better than we ever imagined. But honestly, what made this experience so special wasn't just the work. It was them. They are some of the nicest people we've ever met. They took the time to play with our kids, talk with them, make them laugh, and somehow made the whole project feel fun instead of stressful. We had the best conversations and they were just genuinely wonderful people to have around. By the time they finished, it felt like friends were leaving instead of contractors. It's so rare to find people who are not only incredibly talented at what they do but who also make you excited to have them in your home every day. Incredible work by Marco and Jessica! We needed serious help to finish a new fireplace…read moreinstallation that had been badly botched by a previous contractor. After interviewing multiple painters we chose to go with the husband/wife team of Marco and Jess because of their portfolio of work and the sense that they would treat our home as their home compared to the more impersonal competitors we met. We also liked that MJ have capabilities beyond painting because we knew that our project might require special handling. Marco and Jess were punctual, communicated timing and expectations perfectly, and kept us in the loop at every step along the way. What I love is that they were problem-solvers. While they identified all important items before the job began, as they progressed some unique factors of our project emerged and they were able to quickly pivot and provide solutions. And those solutions weren't intended to add more hours to beef up the bill. At the end of the project they could easily have wrapped up and left but they made a critical suggestion to help improve the final product beyond what we expected. After we accepted their suggestion it took additional time and effort for them to finish the job, but they were absolutely right with their idea and we are beyond thankful for their insight and expertise. They don't use sub-contractors but have their own crews for bigger jobs. A couple anecdotes to illustrate the level of care they showed. After they were done, I noticed that they were on the hands and knees looking for any little droplets of paint that escaped their coverings. Jess fluffed up pillows and restored the workspace in an extra gesture that no other contractor has ever done. And after I paid them (all at the end-they didn't ask for anything up front) and while we were chatting, Marco happened to notice a tiny paint stroke in a high corner that wasn't as straight as he would have liked. He went back to his vehicle and got everything out to make a quick fix. Everything looks great and I have confidence that if for some reason something went wrong they will stand by their work with no hassles. We have another painting job we'll need done later this year or early next year and I already know that I won't need to put it out for bid. Marco and Jess have earned my trust and gratitude for their work and their professionalism. They are also very nice people!
