I went there after I decided it was time to seek help and it took months to get in. After a few sessions they decided to set me up with someone to get medication. After a problem with my insurance that lasted a few weeks they tell me that they are all booked and not accepting new patients even after I had multiple sessions with them. They turned there back one someone who was seeking help and will not even give a reason behind it. It took a lot out of me to seek help only to be left out and with nothing to show. read more

I came here a few years back. Probably the worst therapist I've had was here. Unlike the other reviews I only saw one therapist in my time here. I went for about a year and I felt the therapist cared very little of our meetings. He'd give me some advice that did work so it wasnt a complete waste. But after a few sessions I started feeling like he thought I was just a means to a paycheck. Sometimes i'd be talking and he would look at his phone randomly. Then I started noticing that our session times were being cut short to 30 minutes. A few times I got there 5-10 minutes late so I just thought since I got there late it was on me. But then when I started to make sure I was there 10-15 minutes early, he wouldnt call me in until 15 minutes after the "start time" and he'd finish 15 minutes before the "end time". For example if my appointment was at 10:00, i'd get there at 9:45, he'd call me in at 10:15, then around 10:40 he'd say we had 5 minutes left. One time he called my cell saying he had to reschedule me from 10 am to 2 pm and I said that was ok. WHen I got there the secretary said that I missed my 10 am appointment but I tried explaining that he called me. He comes out of nowhere and says "ill just take him in". He was acting like he didn't call me to reschedule and he was doing me a favor to avoid me making a scene. Now that I look back at that, he was probably trying to get me to cancel. We probably talked for like 25 minutes before he cut the meeting. At that time I was never a very confrontational person so I just didn't call him out on it, but I should've. After every meeting he'd say "let's meet in a month". After one of my meetings I decided just not to go and I think I spent 3-4 months without going before I decided to go back. When I went back he looked at his notes and said "it's been a while since we last saw each other", but he didn't care to even ask why it had been a while or how i'd been especially since im pretty sure in our last meeting I remember feeling down and he noticed. I think I went 2 more times after that and after those 2 meetings I decided to get my records to see what he had written about me. WHen I got the records I couldn't even understand his handwriting mostly. THe little I did understand, he didn't write anything of import. And what bothered me the most is that in every meeting he wrote that we met for 45 minutes or an hour when I know for a fact we only met for 30 minutes. Not impressed at all, was able to get in about one week, but that was the only good thing. I saw Deb Joy with my kids for family counseling and I didn't like her reaction to my talking, my oldest did appreciate either. I am coming from a narcissistic abusive relationship and she snapped at me. No compassion, she was happy to tell us all about her qualifications. She gave my kids beads to play with while getting basic info, ages, grades, likes and dislikes, family history. Then we played a game until time was up. A get to know you game, my little one had fun, but my little oldest and myself were disgusted by the counselors behavior. Would not recommend to anyone and I will be calling my pediatricians office to let them know this is not a good office to continue to recommend. read more

The absolute worst place! Charge $100 if you cancel an appt in less than 24 hours as if people with mental health issues don't go there! SOMETIMES WE PHYSICALLY CAN'T LEAVE BED. Additionally, the therapists/NPs cancel appointments with as little as two hour warning time but no, no fee for them huh? No $100 compensation for my wasted time? Not to mention they get appointment dates wrong ALL THE TIME. I always write my appointments down WHEN I'm booking them so I know they're correct. There have been at least 6 times I have driven to the office just for them to tell me my appointment is the next day. They will move your appointment and not tell you, then charge you when you miss it. Absolutely unprofessional and the front desk clerks are always bitchy and unhelpful. The worst and most unprofessional place, both my primary care doctor and I have been trying to get my records for at least 6months!! Today was my FIFTH call to them and my doctor requested 4 previous times and STILL NO RESPONSE!! THEY SUCK!! read more

I have been going to GPA for over a year now. My therapist has been wonderful, and she really understands what my family has needed. We suffered a loss, and my teens have been having a lot of trouble adjusting. I don't know where we would be if it weren't for Ms. Joy. I recommended her to several other coworkers. She is part of our EAP program, and I know for a fact she has helped my friend with his marital issues, as well. I find the staff at GPA to be compassionate, friendly and they make sure we don't have to wait long for an appointment. I can usually get in to see my therapist the same week I call! I don't know any other agency that can say that. read more

Don't even waste your time. Huge practice with no compassion or knowledge. In it for the $$$ not results for the patient. The patient does not get to give any input into what is decided for you by GPA period.....no discussions. They all need to get down off their pedestals and FEEL. Best part of the place is the receptionist. Seriously seek a more professional practice. read more

Do yourself a huge favor and go anywhere else. 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff used to be good, but everyone good left. There used to be a really thorough old woman at the front desk, but now the front desk is laughable, and they mess up my billing constantly. They almost never answer the phone and they are terrible about returning phone calls. The person I saw for four years was good, but she left with one meeting's notice. The meds prescribers are largely unhelpful, and try to coerce you into buying expensive vitamins and supplements. If you have hours to waste every month, come on in, but if you actually want to get something out of your therapy that you're paying money for, go somewhere else. I will be leaving as soon as I can. read more
