Years ago this was a solid, trustworthy appliance repair company. The 1st I would call. Unfortunately, a recent experience changed my view. A washing machine was thumping. Repair person puzzled but said "continue to use it if you can stand the noise. Probably cost more to order new parts than it is worth." (Note-this model still on the market) Two days later, when running a small load, the machine leaked for the 1st time. The washer worked well, clothes were rinsed & clean. The repair person returned and could not find the source of the leak, but would search to find an entire replacement for the machine motor and parts. He said he would call with that info in a week. I called for service they sent somebody that they partner with to come take a look at my washer..He did not take it apart.. did not clean..it did not fix it.. I was told it was a surface issue... and to use winded.. magic eraser and barkeepers friend .... HE SAID THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH GE WASHERS......I asked last him how do I get the Chemical out of the halls he said he wouldn't worry about that ...still have a washer full of rust in it..... I called his office and complained about his service... Becky in the office said she would call him and find out about the service and call me back... Becky did call me back giving me the same instructions as the tech. So I informed her that I was disabled and that this was not going to be easy for me to do...I asked he so when I use the bar keeps friend , how do I get the Chemical out of the holes .... she told me to use a Q-tip...I called GE on Monday after their so-called partner left..I got out appointment date for Wednesday, April 14 between 8 AM and 12 PM nobody came nobody called.. so I called them back... I was told that they talked to the 3rd party that came out and was told that they serviced the washer.. I informed the lady that this was untrue.. and that I had appointment for April 14 between 8-12pm.. and no one has called or come out.. she said that I already had a technician out already and that the computer would not let her schedule another service for the washer..I then was so angry so I called their corporate office of course there was no one in.. so I called many of the corporate Number's and was leaving my name and number on all of the voicemails... a woman by the name of Mary from Ky. Called me back this morning April 15,2021... I tried to explain my issues with the first tech and the appointment that never happened yesterday... Mary told me that I needed to mix all these chemicals together.... and to clean my washer and that it may take a several times to get it all cleaned.... I explained that I was disabled and that this was not going to be something that was going to be easy for me to do... she asked me what I wanted done... I told her that I wanted my washer fixed and cleaned up so I could do my laundry.... I WAS TOLD BY MARY THAT GE WAS NOT GOING TO FIX THE WASHER AND THEY WILL NOT CLEAN THE RUST OUT OF THE MACHINE... So I told Mary that I was going to see how well the news stations are going to feel about GE when I report this to them... she said go ahead....MY ADVICE TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE IS TO NEVER NEVER EVER BUY A GE WASHER OR PRODUCT..... GE told me to use bar keepers friend with winded and magic erasers all together at same time( mix them).... to scrub washer..... Now mind you I am a heart attack & stroke patient .... with COPD & emphysema So this is a bad combination for me.... but I will do it.... so I can do laundry.... and if anything at all happens to me my kids will know what to do.... OH AND BY THE WAY GE LET ME KNOW WE ARE SUPPOSE TO WASH AND DRY OUR WASHERS WHEN WE ARE DONE USING THEM..... and that washers are not covered by manufacturers warranty or extended warranty for rust read more

Will never use this place again. They came out to fix water under the fridge and 5 visits later, they still couldn't find the issue and then we started having temperature issues where food was thawing. Final visit resulted in the fridge's electrical system shorting out. The fridge's temperature was never an issue until they came out to look at water issue. On top of that, the issue was never fixed and the problem was figured out by PC Richards within 2 minutes when they delivered new fridge. I call for a refund on service they charged for and a women answered and refused to help and refused to even try to help even though they broke our fridge!!! WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!!!! STAY FAR AWAY!!!! read more

I have contacted General Appliance twice and could not be happier. The first time was to repair a malfunctioning ice maker on a Frigidaire refrigerator. The technician arrived early during the "window" they gave me and ordered parts. When he came back to do the actual repair, again at the promised time, he found that all the parts were not needed and did not charge me for the extra items. The second time, I called to report a "funky" smell in a top loading washer. The woman who took the call recommended that, before I had them come out, I try a certain cleaning product, which solved the problem. In short, they twice found a way for me to save money, at the expense of their profit. I recommend them very highly. read more

Melissa is great, but the owner/service tech is a complete @#$%$#@. I would rather call my grandmother than this guy, and she's dead. It took a month to get an appointment, and when the guy finally showed up he was extremely obnoxious, said he couldn't do anything that day, and refused to say when he could come back. I told him not to come back, I'm calling someone else. read more

Used General Appliance to repair mysterious leaking SubZero refrigerator. After spending $1500 on 3 visits we finally called in a factory trained service who determined that multiple diagnoses and replacement parts by GA were incorrect. They had also replaced drain line incorrectly which made leak a real problem. Called to complain to GA management, call returned eventually by the repairman who obviously wasn't trained on this equipment, then gave up. read more

I would never call this place or recommend to anyone. Replaced electronics to fix my dishwasher and was assured by technician that everything else was working great (since cost was border line on getting a new one.) Less than a month later, electronics flashing and technician couldn't replicate issue but again assured me all was good and electronics reset was all it needed. Maybe since he was almost two hours late on four hour window, he missed the fact you had to press the start button to replicate the issue because I found shortly thereafter it still was not working with same electronics flashing issue. Fourth visit now and he finally "found" that the pump isn't working (although was working fine all three prior visits) which would cost me another few hundred to repair. Third office person I spoke to tried to explain why I hadn't been charged enough to date for all these visits so they weren't going to do anything besides sell more parts and services to fix it. But the owner would call me to discuss. That was days ago and I haven't heard anything from the owner. read more
