I asked him to hold it until stones were agreed upon. But he went ahead and took the ring apart anticipating a different design which we had not agreed upon. We ultimately agreed on the replacement stones. However, within the year after the ring was completed, the stones became loose. I contacted Bruce by email (his office is far from my house)to see if he wanted to fix the problem...NO ANSWER. I went to another jeweler who said the ring had been so compromised that the stones would never stay secure without completely refabricating the ring at significant expense. Again, I emailed Bruce about what the other jeweler said. Again, NO ANSWER even though he had answered many prior emails. I shared this with a friend and he also had had Bruce do some custom work which was subpar. I regret it (because he did do some great work for me in the past) but I will never use Bruce again.

He never made us feel pressured to buy from him and objectively gave us all of the information we needed to make an informed decision. He did SUCH a beautiful job with both my ring and my husband's - especially given how custom and intricate both of ours were. For mine, I wanted a single pear shaped diamond on a platinum band for my engagement ring and then two wedding bands to flank the engagement band. He even suggested the idea of matching the number of stones to our wedding date for my ring. When I went through major fluctuations in ring sizing (from a size 7 to size 5.5 over one year), he remade mine at no additional charge, even though it took a few times to get the size just right. My husband's ring was a thinner 7mm platinum band that had our proposal 3D engraved onto it. This was, by far, one of the most complicated designs I'd ever seen for a ring and it took Asit 4 months of rendering, re-rendering and edits to get right, but he got it done within schedule. We LOVE him and his entire operation and I wouldn't recommend going to anyone else.
