While waiting to get into the Duomo, we decided to sample the gelato offered at Grom. This is a chain with stores thoughtout Italy. My husband is the gelato aficionado, and Grom makes really good gelato. We were both in heaven! It was cold and delicious on a very warm day. Yummy gelato in central Genova! Gelateria Grom has a wide choice of interesting sounding flavours. I chose the flavour of the month which seemed to be sesame with chunks of caramelised sesame and coconut with chocolate chunks. Both flavours had a nice creamy texture with good quality ingredients, I found the sesame slightly too sweet but it was an interesting new flavour for me. Unfortunately I did not have time to sample any other flavours as I was in a hurry to get to lunch before catching an intercity train but I was satisfied with the 2 flavours I tasted. Contrary to other comments, at €2.20 for a small portion I found the pricing to be reasonable and quite standard given the higher quality. read more
