While I have specialists I see in this same bldg. this was my first visit to Dr. Jimena Burnett. I…read morewas hesitant to sign on with Dr. Burnett because I had read many bad reviews about her and her staff. However, my MD of the last few yrs. recently had to move from this area, so I thought I'd give them a try and make up my own mind. I have to say, I was surprised that the nurses and lab techs were friendly and thorough; not at all what I had read in reviews. Dr. Burnett, while not the most personable Dr. I've ever met, was very knowledgeable, thorough and kind. I need a good doctor not a new friend, so I didn't mind that she's not chatty. I'm giving only 3 stars because the examination room and the restroom in the office were extremely dirty with cobwebs, hair and lots of dust and dirt behind the doors and in the corners. The bathroom had paper all over the floor and the soap dispenser looked years past needing a replacement. The toilet cover dispenser was hanging half off the floor and was empty. I hope it was just a bad case of needing a new cleaning crew and that this isn't the case next time I visit. If a doctors offices aren't clean it makes you wonder how concerned they actually are about keeping you healthy!

However, Friday came and went with no phone call, so I reached out again, as my open wound was urgent. My questions were not answered, and I was told others were ahead of me and they didn't "know when we will get to you." Today is over a week later, and I still haven't heard back directly. I decided to write this review after I just learned they contacted MUSC, not me, to deny me because I'm out of network. This took them A WEEK, wasting valuable time. Clearly, my life seems to have no value to them. This is unacceptable patient care and unprofessional. I can afford to pay out of pocket, but I will absolutely not give them money if this is how they treat people who need immediate care. I would advise others to avoid them as well. Cost doesn't matter when a doctor and staff show compassion and professionalism, and truly value your health and life.
