Really unhappy with Geico's service! As a new customer, I received an online quote that was significantly better than my current insurance company. Unfortunately, when I tried to purchase the policy, I received an email stating the premium has increased by $48/month due to "additional information" found on my driving record. When I called Geico, the rep. said an accident from 2013 was listed as my fault, and caused the rate to go up. I explained that I was rear-ended, and was found to be 100% not at fault. The rep.told me to provide documentation from my current insurance company, and then the premium difference would be credited to my account. I did so on Jan. 11. I called back twice and spoke to Cal. R and Lauren W. They both told me underwriting would look at the document and credit my account. I called again today, and spoke with a rep., as well as a supervisor, Jay Williams, who told me underwriting stated the 2013 accident had nothing to do with my policy premium increase and they weren't going to honor the original quote of $126. It is very frustrating and upsetting to receive repeated misinformation and terrible service from a new service provider! I am planning to make a report to the BBB and the Consumer Protection Agency, as well as look for a new insurance agency!!! I REALLY regret leaving American Family! They were worth the higher price! read more
