I DO NOT RECOMMEND SCOTT MCFADYEN OR SOUTH GEELONG AUTO'S…read moreMy experience with Scott McFadyen of South Geelong Auto's I brought a Ute from Scott owner of South Geelong Auto's I first sent a message asking about it on the site autotrader.com not long after I received a message from Wally who works there who didn't really give me much information about the ute except to tell me to call for more details Five days later I message Wally again to see if he still had it & let him know I would be in Geelong in 4 days the day before I went to Geelong I rang Wally to find out some more details he said it came from Shepparton but that was all he could tell me I don't think he knew anything else or wouldn't tell me anything else I think he didn't know anything about the Ute all he could tell me was the problems he was having in his life he seemed like a nice man so I didn't worry about it he did say he would not be there and the owner Scott would be On the 8-10-24 I went to South Geelong Auto's I meet the owner Scott and looked at Ute and took for test drive I was telling Scott I'm a CARER and that I look after my ELDERLY MOTHER and that was why we were in Geelong that day as I had to take my mother to a kidney specialist I SAID I HAVE BEEN WANTING A UTE FOR MANY YEARS AND I NEED ONE WITH LOW KM'S THAT IS RELIABLE BECAUSE I LOOK AFTER MY MOTHER AND IT WAS ALSO A EARLY BRITHDAY PERSENT TO MYSELF After maybe an hour we had agree on the sale On the 18-10-24 I went to pick up ute when I got there he was charging the battery he said something about the mechanic draining the battery and the reason it took so long to get it fixed was because one of the tyres had a flat spot When I checked air pressure in all 5 tyres on the 19-10-24 Front left was 26 psi Rear left was 38 psi Spare tyre was 19 psi Rear right was 22 psi Front right was 23 psi Question: When selling a vehicle WHY would you not check air pressure in ALL Tyres????? ONLY reason I can think of is DEALER DOES NOT CARE and is CUTTING CORNERS trying to get things done as quickly as possible I had a look over the ute a couple of things weren't done being detailing and polishing of ute I let that go as it was bad weather that day but he said everything else had been done I took for a test drive and played around with the buttons to make sure everything worked I was happy enough that everything was done and was above board and roadworthy We singed the paper work and I left happy One hour in to my drive home the ENGINE JUST STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING I was lucky I didn't cause an accident I got ute off highway took pictures of the lights on the dash and sent them to Scott than rang him he sent someone to have a look I went too there workshop they told me to come back in half an hour when I returned they said it was the battery and they put in new one BECAUSE SCOTT TOLD THEM TO they took for test drive when they came back said everything was fine I left 5km's down the road doing 100km's while it was raining and a truck behind me for the Second time ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING I was lucky the truck didn't run into the back of me causing an accident I AGAIN took pictures of the lights on the dash and sent them to Scott than rang him as I knew how to get it started I said I would go back to workshop when I got there I stayed and watched what they did they put scanner on it came up with a lot of codes they cleared the codes and said there was nothing else they could do Scott rang me he said maybe I should bring it back to him I said I will try getting home and have an auto electrical I have used in the past have a look Scott agreed to that and we both agreed no work would be done until Scott and I had spoken I made it home without it happening again I let Scott know this On the 23-10-24 I message Scott and sent pictures about a rattle I thought was coming from front plastic wheel liner On the 29-10-23 Scott reply to my message saying he would be happy to pay for new wheel liner I found one on e-bay for $62 with FREE DELIVERY On the 30-10-24 IT HAPPENED AGAIN ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING AGAIN took pictures of the lights on the dash and sent them to Scott I told Scott I booked it in with the auto electrical on 12-11-24 On the 31-10-24 I message Scott to let him know I received front plastic wheel liner On 1-11-24 BRAKES START SQUEAKING It's fun how when I first saw ute and took it for test drive on 8-10-24 and on 18-10-24 took for test drive and picked up ute BRAKES WERE NOT SQUEAKING On the 6-12-24 I message Scott to let him know what's been happening the auto electrical could not pin point the problem so I was told to go see a mechanic who specialise in finding problems which I did on the 28-11-24 he said the problem was the tune and cold air intake he suggest changing back to standard air filter so I TOLD HIM TO DO IT AS I WAS SICK OF DRVING A DANGEROUS VEHICLE I WAS VERY WORRY ABOUT HAVING AN ACCIDENT ute was book

Dropped my car on for servicing with a few things extra I asked them to look at. Car was returned back to me immaculately detailed inside and out for no additional charge. Am very impressed with customer service and servicing standards of vehicle.
