From Anchorage, Alaska -- If you enjoy watching your router dumbly blinking its pretty little green lights at you while your Internet lies dead as Julius Caesar sometimes for hours, even most of a day, OFTEN, then GCI is the Internet Service Denier for you. Expect to be off line several times a month. If you enjoy speaking with bored, dour customer service people with accent patois so deep you may need a translator at your side, then GCI is the way to bliss. In fairness, when service is miraculously up and running, it is pretty good. But one "aw crap" wipes the slate clean, remember? Expect many many aw craps if you decide to use their dubious and terribly spotty "service." I wouldn't and do not recommend this outfit for anyone. Find another way. Worst company in the world - ever. My son bought a prepaid service while on a fishing boat for a month so he could call us and the service never worked. They would not provide a refund. Customer service is awful. DO not use this company. read more

They cut service due to a 2.99 bill change that was made last month. We paid the normal statement amount and GCI cut our service ACTUALLY CUT OFF SERVICE DUE TO A CHANGE THEY MADE DURING THE MONTH! read more

The guy says he can only help me if I am wearing a mask. I fail to see how my wearing a mask will improve his IQ. Let me tell you that in the fire department, if I had worn any kind of respirator while having a beard, it would have been grounds for immediate dismissal. Any fire fighter knows that wearing any mask with a beard is like wearing no mask at all. GCI knows as much about respiratory science as they know about cable television, apparently. The guy who can't help me unless I am wearing my mask ineffectively as this bearded goon is, is wrong. Not his fault. It's his employer which is GCI.
