Had an excellent flat white that was perfectly made with coffee that was an excellent balance of fruitiness and bitterness, requiring no sugar. My wife assures me her mocha had just the right amount of chocolate to balance the full bodied flavor of the coffee and the milk was beautifully frothed. And of course, the scones were fresh and tasty, tender and crumbly just as scones should be. This is a proper coffee house.

I know the term "hidden gem" gets thrown around a lot in food reviews, but Forts ticks all the boxes to earn that title. It's off the beaten path with more of a neighborhood feel than trendy vibe. The relaxed and inviting layout makes you want to hang out with friends (back when that was allowed) with service that was stellar from the moment you walked through the door. We sought this place out on the reputation of its coffees alone, but soon realized how wonderful it was across the board. Everything we had from the menu was delicious. Not just good, but *delicious*. That's an important distinction. We all would've gladly had seconds of the same exact thing we had just ordered. Not to mention, the rotating menu of seasonally inspired dishes meant that it would be impossible to get bored even if you ate here all year round. Finally, there was the coffee. It was obviously busy as many tables were occupied with families celebrating Mother's Day. The décor is lovely and homely. Everywhere was spotlessly clean including the bright white toilet with a great smelling hand wash! The reason for the visit was celebrating my friend's 30th birthday. The waitress even noticed her badge and congratulated her - nice touch! The cake was delicious! They had great gluten-free cakes which I tried. They have more seating available downstairs, so if it looks full, ask if they have any tables downstairs. Overall, I would highly recommend this tea room and will definitely be returning with my friends and family in the future.

It has plenty of seating and is really clean. It serves what I would class as 'greasy spoon' type foods but does include some home made items on the menu. The food that I had was nice and the portion sizes were generous. They only accept cash, no card payments here. It's easy to park outside and it's free.
