I turned in the documents needed for the case on November 2021, I called multiple times to ask about the next steps and I didn't get an answer until I filed a complaint. My company said he wasn't listed as family law and shocked that he took my case. He convinced me to keep him instead of hiring someone else. Moving forward, we got the court date set and the judge approved the adoption. I was told that his office will get me several copies of the certified documents, but after a month of waiting, nothing happened. I called and his paralegal Ashley every week to ask for the status, but couldn't get me an answer. I went to the courthouse myself and they said the judge hasn't signed the final document and that only Ashley or someone from Mr. Kemp's office can request it. I called to let Mr. Kemp know, but he said Ashley quit and I quote, he said "I don't know the ins and outs of how to go from here." I asked him to go to the courthouse and request to unseal the case because he's the only one authorized to do so and he told me , "you'll have to hire another lawyer. Good luck." I paid another lawyer to pick up where his office left off and found out that Kemp Law Firm had other documents that he didn't even submit. He hires paralegals to do the work because he doesn't know how to do it. However for some reason, his paralegals keeps quitting on him. He went through 3 paralegals from the time I hired him from my case up to the time he told me good luck. I was going to hire him for 2 other cases, but better to go somewhere else.

Provided an in-depth summary with evidence. Scheduled a phone call with Attorney at 11:30 a.m. (09/23/25) Attorney was late calling me for the scheduled appointment. It seems like his firm has a "TIME MANAGEMENT" issue. Can you imagine having to file by a certain deadline and, because they lack "TIME MANAGEMENT" abilities, now your case is screwed. The Attorney didn't listen to the facts and articulation of said facts. He was purely stuck on the fact that the employer is a governmental entity. He claims to care about doing the right thing but lacks a courage to do so. I can't imagine being an Attorney then being a complete coward of a human being. During the call he admitted he didn't know how to argue and would lose a standard employment law argument. What? Then why are you claiming to specialize in Employment Law if you heavily implied that you don't know and are a quitter. You have people's livelihoods in your hands. To admit/heavily imply you don't know how to defend a case tells me you DO NOT FIGHT FOR YOUR CLIENTS. You have an ethical obligation to give your clients the best defense possible. I'm so shocked by his "admission" that I'm considering contacting the state bar. That is insane! I've never heard an attorney flat out admit that before. I have better facts and evidence than 99% of the "purely speculative" cases he does accept. I don't know if he made that admission simply because he isn't willing to help Veterans (I'm a Veteran and this is a related to Veterans) which gives me the impression he doesn't care about Veterans. In conclusion, if you are a Veteran and/or actually care about Veterans then STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM. This was the worst discussion I've had with an Attorney. Admits to not knowing how to fight a case is insane.

Just last month we had an inspector come to our house and do an inspection and he stated that "this…read moreis the second worst house he has ever seen."  He gave several reasons for this and all of it was due to poor construction standards.  If you look online, you will see that there has been several lawsuits on this company for this exact thing.  In Galveston and other Houston locations. I will try and break this down to you quickly. June 2016 we purchased this home.  In 2017, we already had mold issues so we brought them inside to fix the issues while it is was still under warranty.  Then Harvey hit and we had the roof damage that they had to come fix.  I believe in 2018, we showed green mold issues coming from the foundation of the home.  They brought in an IH (Industrial Hygiene) lady and she found harmful "black water" coming out of the walls of the house from the upstairs bathroom.  (When they built the house, the workers screwed or nailed in the siding into the PVC piping running from the toilet.  This caused "shit water" (harmful toxins) to leak into our house and walls.)  We allowed them a third time to come into our home and fix their mistake.  This was a month of getting rid of all of the hazardous waste and replaced all of our walls and piping.  Our 17 year old son had to deal with all of this and be moved out of his room. Finally, in 2019, yet again we saw the mold return (which is against Texas state law.)  A company should never have or let black mold regrow where it was previously taken out.   The company stated that they could come in and re-do the work.   At this point we have allowed them in our home 3-4 times to fix their screw ups.  We finally told them no, you are not coming back to fix something you had several chances to fix."  We asked them to provide another company to fix it or purchase our ruined home back from us.   They refused!  And now we have been in a mold infested home for over two years.  Numerous medical issues have risen and our family is being exposed to harmful toxins throughout our home on a daily basis. Your Law firm has sat on this case for 2 years with absolutely zero movement. City of Houston stay away from these people.
