Gateway Tile & Slate Ltd first opened in 1982, and has constantly evolved from day one. The business was set up in a group of old stone buildings with a long and fascinating history. This site, at the entrance to Newport Industrial Estate, and on the banks of the River Kensey, has over the years been a Watermill, a Tannery and part of Launceston Railway Junction, and has now become possibly the most unique tile and bathroom centre you will see. The first major development we made was to start importing our own tiles direct from factories chosen for their quality and value, from this it seemed a natural progression to import our own range of flooring slate. From the beginning, our aim has been to offer a friendly service second to none, based on honesty and integrity and treating our trade and retail customers with respect. Over the years many of these customers have become friends. Now into the second generation of this family owned and run company we are proud to announce our latest and most exciting news, this lovely building is now the home of Launceston Bathroom Centre with a dedicated showroom within the existing tile centre. In this stunning showroom you will find all the latest ideas to make bathing a pleasurable experience, from compact en-suites to luxury wetrooms, and including fully tiled bathrooms and shower rooms, complete with accessories and superb bathroom furniture, and all based on our policy of quality and good value.

I started working for my parents in the office, and slowly have moved upi through the company , to now be a director, I love working here and decided to start doing bathrooms as they show the tiles off better, since putting some displays in the showroom we have just got busier and busier with many happy customers!
