We sat down and weren't even acknowledged for 30 minutes. Another couple came in about 10 minutes after us, got their drinks, ordered food, and got their food all before us even being acknowledged. Then another couple came in about 25 minutes after us and were instantly acknowledged and given menus. We were STILL not even acknowledged. Finally, 30 minutes after sitting at the table we were finally noticed. When we complained about the horrible service it was expressed in no uncertain terms we wouldn't get a discount. WOW! 2 years ago my son and I came down with horrible food poisoning from eating at Gateway. It was absolutely 100% Gateways fault we got sick. I left a bad review and the owner begged me to remove the review. Things happen so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and removed the bad review. So here we are today ... Stopped in Saturday with my brothers. Six of us, five ordered the prime rib dinner. The price seemed fair. The food arrived cold, baked potatoes,and meat.fat congealed in the aus jus. Service totally sucks. The food prices are fair, but service was inattentive and lacking. We spent over $200 with tip and have serious reservations about going back. Our waitress through a pen at another employee from the prep are hitting two of us above the shoulders , missing her intended target. I am still waiting to get a knife to cut my prime rib that she dropped on the floor.abd will bring right out. I think it is sitting next to the horseradish sauce that she promised to bring out. I will have a difficult time convincing my brothers to spend another dime in the place. read more

Been going to Gateway for about 6 years when up North and usually appreciate the food and usually recommend to others. This past Sunday was not so good. We had the all you can eat chicken and when the waitress asked if we wanted more we said yes and she said it would be about 15 minutes. The chicken breast arrived about 20 minutes later and after the 2nd fork pull I end up with red uncooked chicken that pretty much ruined the meal for us. When the waitress came back I mentioned the uncooked chicken to her and she said oh. The help seemed more concerned with the band that was setting up then customer service. So much for the Gateway next time we will not do the 12 mile drive in and try one of the taverns close to us for food. read more

Gateway is probably one of the best restaurants in the immediate village of Crivitz but that isn't saying much. I have lived here my whole life, with the exception of a span of 5 years for college, and it has gone down hill since it first opened. Some of the food is really good but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. If you go to eat here go on Mondays and get the all you can eat chicken wings. I think this is one of their best specials. Their Friday Fish Fry is a bit over priced I think and not as good as you can get at other places but it still is decent. The best menu item I would say is their chicken dinners. Most of the time it is really good and juicy but a few times I have had over cooked chicken that was really dry. Gateway is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes it will wow you and other times it makes you wonder why you keep coming back. And I went back again and decided to write another review to say that it was terrible. I am giong to try and not to ever go back if I can help it, but restaraunts are few and far between in Crivitz. read more

So I'm not even sure how to begin this review except maybe you should ask the waitress what do they have to eat. We came into this place after a funeral/ wake. The family wanted to come to this place we arrived it was busy and their was a lot of us. I looked over the menu decided on the fish sandwich. "I'm sorry we don't sell that anymore " I attempted to order a total of 3 things that they don't sell anymore. So decided on the Reuben sandwich but asked for no sauerkraut then was told they can't do that because they are pre made in the morning! I don't know about you but I can pre make my own sandwich and eat it later that's not what I expect when I'm paying to eat in a restaurant. I ended up ordering a chicken Parmesan sandwich as I was out of ideas and our whole group ordered. It wasn't good. I ate less than half and left the rest there wasn't worth taking home. Gross. Every time we eat there it is disgusting so of course we tried it again just in case they found a cook or a manager. Bad choice. Breakfast was disgusting, has browns cold and grease and/or grill just old or dirty. So-called eggs Benedict has rubber eggs (well, we think they were probably eggs or perhaps melted plastic wrap) were smothered in a gross sauce but also topped with lots of melted cheddar cheese, probably the source of the extra grease. Toast was stall and cold. English muffin was stale and warm. Ham was super salty and dry. The so-called egg bake was yukky and small. The beverages were ok, the waitress was very nice. Just don't go there for food. They do have music & games, lots of TVs and lots of seating, and an outside deck with some TV's in a little hut for the Packer Games. read more

I live just 5 miles north for the past 6 years and Gate Way is a great place to get a bite to eat, breakfast is very good, eggsbenadic and hash browns the best you ever had. All food is good, but you have to try their Pizza, it's the best in Crivitz if you like cheese. read more

I love Gateway!!! Granted, they were very busy but we enjoyed our meal very much. We had the Fish fry and it was very good! The staff is very nice and friendly which made the Gateway experience very enjoyable! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We had the chicken alfredo pizza on the way home on Sunday and it was excellent!!! read more
