The restaurant is tucked away in a very unassuming neighborhood; we almost wondered if we were in the wrong location. But once we found it, we walked into a delightful place with a wonderful ambiance. We sat outside but the owner has all of the doors open on three sides, so even the inside feels like it's open, breezy and outside.
The Caprese Salad was delicious - made with perfectly ripe tomatoes and good mozzarella. We also had the penne pasta w a spicy tomato sauce (simple and flavorful) and the branzino w fennel risotto and steamed broccoli. This last dish was excellent and the fish was very fresh. My only suggestion would be to have the broccoli be a little firmer. We didn't have room for dessert, but the tiramisu looked amazing.
The owner opened the restaurant 31 years ago and takes great pride in his food. The service is normal for Europe (so hold your horses when waiting for your check!). All in all, it was a lovely, memorable dinner.
