Very unfortunate as we had been wanting to try it for so long (we live in the neighborhood). My son…read moreand I were super hungry and ready to eat after searching for a while. My son wanted "Spätzle mit Rahmsauce". I called to make sure they had that dish (didn't once mention the need for a Reservation). We arrive 25 minutes before they open. We patiently entertain us and wait outside 'til they open. When they open, we are greeted with "Do you have a reservation?" (by the man who had answered the phone, I believe), so I say, "No, but I did call and ask if you had "Spätzle mit Rahmsauce" and you said "yes, we have all kinds, so we came right over." We are about to leave and he says come in, the kitchen won't open until 6pm (in half an hour), but you can order. We come in. We stand there waiting while they seat about 2-3 other tables. He passes by us a few times without being clear about if he's giving us a table or what. I start to speak to the other server there, and she says she doesn't understand and tells us to wait for him/her colleague. He comes back and just acts like he doesn't know anything. I finally, after standing there 10 minutes, say, "What is happening? Can you be clear with us? Are we getting a table?" He acts like he doesn't know what is happening, and doesn't do anything, so we turn around and finally leave. Very disappointing. And, frankly, maybe this is a cultural difference, but to me the experience was rude.
