Wanting to really grasp the authenticity of our trip to Germany, we decided on German food. This restaurant is fairly close to Wunderland so if you're heading over there, definitely recommend stopping by! Typically you have to make a reservation but we were lucky and arrived at around 5:30 pm and scored a nice little table for 2 by the window. They were super sweet in giving us a simplified english menu, along with the normal german one. I desperately tried to understand the regular menu but it was tough for someone who literally only knows "danke" and can barely pronounce it correctly! I was really craving Schnitzel and Spaetzle but unfortunately they did not have any spaetzle so I went for Schnitzel or the breaded pork with a fried egg and fried potatoes. My friend got the Salmon with Taligatelle. I also ordered a lübzer pils (0.5L obviously) and my friend took a bottle of still water. the food was super quick to arrive and it was delicious! my pork was moist, juicy with the most perfectly cooked and fresh egg (very yummy compared to the ones you get in the US!) and the potatoes were unbelievably tasty! My friend's pasta was also very well seasoned and her salmon was buttery and fresh. The meal really blew us away and hit the spot. Service was a little slow since it packed up quickly and we were all the way in the corner but that's fine--I enjoy the leisure of getting to relax and enjoy dinner at our own pace! Don't forget, if you pay with a card, you should definitely tip some cash extra. 10% is customary for sit down restaurants and Das Kontor definitely deserved it! Danke!!

We were definitely unimpressed. Our host had suggested this restaurant as one of the better ones…read morein the area; that may be, but that doesn't make it a good restaurant. We came for dinner & ordered schnitzel (how hard could that be to mess up?). Our food arrived 3 minutes after ordering, and was overcooked. Make of that what you will (what I made of it was that our food, served at dinner, had probably been cooked sometime around lunch). Even our 5-year-old thought her Wiener Schnitzel was tough; the only part she liked was the name of the dish ("Miss Piggy"). Definitely not a restaurant we'd return to, and as this is the only Schweinske I've experienced, I doubt we'd try others in the chain.

Have been to this place many times, but it was ages ago. So I thought it's time to come over again…read morebut lunch instead of dinner, biergarten instead of main restaurant. It didn't disappoint. Delicious food, very nice, relaxing atmosphere, enough visitors but not crowded. I'd say perfect place to have a cold beer on lazy Sunday afternoon. Massive playground makes it even better for those with the kids. I always test German restaurants by ordering Bratkartofel and here it was really good! Many guests go there to refresh/eat after their horseriding classes: the restaurant is right at the Kloevensteen stables. Only one thing I didn't like: service. I was asked for my oder by one person, drinks were brought by other, food was brough by another and table was cleaned up by fourth. But that's not a problem: one of the waiter was really impolite and snobby when she brought thing I didn't order. And for that one star off.
