And they WILL ask for change- which can be a struggle. I finally just learned to lie- and say I didn't have any, which spared me the embarrassment of digging in my purse for weird amounts. The wine selection here was great. We tried a new one every night (13 wines we tried- yes, that is correct- 13!!!) And they were all good. We tried everything from 4 to 10 euro wines- and they were all good. And Roman water did not agree with us- so we bought a lot of bottled water here.
