I heard of this restaurant from a German friend and wow, oh wow thanks to him, we had the best meal…read moreof our whole stay at this really pretty restaurant about 6-8 kilometers from Villach. Very typical looking from the outside, the interior was very warm and inviting with a perfect mix of modernity and classic austrian, I loved the art on the walls and the romantic lighting. Our server was super nice and was able to speak Italian which was great considering our German is NICHT. She was the best server we had in Villach, where many other restaurants were nice but not helpful with translation problems. The food, oh my the food is amazing. Really really good. If you are looking for a modern twist on classic Austrian dishes, you have found your place. The menu is small but thankfully so, as everything is presented well and is fresh, tasty and unique. My boyfriend has a garlic soup which came with a bacon roll garnish {amazing} and wasn't too heavy like we had the night before at a different restaurant. I had an apple curry soup which I am still craving today. We also had fried pork with a berry sauce (wow) and I had a very nice steak and potatoes. Portions are perfect, not too big which I actually appreciated since the food itself was perfect. We also ordered dessert - a heavenly chocolate cake with a beautiful cream and fresh fruits, all nicely presented. All for 25 euros a head (with wine & beer). you will have a great time, get treated like family and eat like a king, I want to go back there asap, what a find!!!!!!
