A great alternative to the constantly crowded and packed Forsthaus next to the lake!
We ended up here because the sun was shining on a sunday afternoon and like so many others we had decided to go for a stroll around the lake (Dechsendorfer Weiher)
We hadn't made a reservation, so we were asked to come back half an hour later, they would make sure we had a table waiting for us then - which they did!
The restaurant is a family business and even the youngest helped carrying out the food! They offer typical Franconian food as well as your regular German inn food, from Carp Fish (depending on the season) to stews and Cordon Bleu.
The service was quite fast and although one waitress had some difficulties understanding our orders, she did her best to make sure we were satisfied with everything.
The food itself is decent - nothing extraordinary and yet it was delicious, especially the Cordon Bleu and the fresh side salad!
Bottom line:
* Great food
* Top Service (and a fast one at that!)
* Not as crowded as the alternatives around here...
* ... simply a lovely place to go after/before you went for a walk around the nearby lake read more
