The location is remote enough to be quaint, but centrally enough located in Franconia that it's easy to make day trips to all of the important Franconian locations. The restaurant was quite good with a variety of menu and seating options. No one we encountered on the friendly and helpful staff spoke English (or perhaps they were merely being gracious in indulging my less-than-perfect German), so English speakers might care to take that into account. Nevertheless, I'm confident that the wonderful staff would make it a pleasant stay, even in the absence of a shared language.

The beer garden was dirty and it does not get any sun in the afternoon so it was quite cold. We went there in a group of 10 people another time, and the waiter charged us twice for the birthday person in the group. I tried calling them for months after that and never got any help. We still had the receipt where he had ticked the same drinks off more than what was on the receipt. I even had someone german calling them but the owner was never in no matter what time of the day we tried. I will not go there again.

The menu offers a variety of steaks, local dishes and also vegetarian food. The prices are above average - so the quality and the service is. We had braised pork shoulder with potato dumplings served in dark gravy. It was served with a salad as side dish. The other time we had Nuernberg grilled sausages and Steak. Utmost delicious. The only downside is the parking lot situation which is really bad. So be aware to either have a short walk or try to use the bus (which might be difficult). When sitting outside, be aware that this location is not far away from the Nuernberg Airport - so sometimes planes will fly by and it might get a little louder. So here´s my ranking - as always from 0-10 (whereas 10 is best). Location: 8 Reachability: 3 Parking situation: 3 Waiter service: 9 Friendliness of staff: 9 Food presentation: 9 Food quality: 9 Cleanliness of the facility: 9 Pricing: 6-7 This place shows: spending more is getting better quality and better service. Would I come here again? yo man!

Make sure to try some of the appetizers featuring Nurnberg sausages before going onto the mains. For the mains, I've had their braised pork shoulder, which was stellar, and beef tenderloin, which was very good. I was told by my local colleagues at one of the dinners that the braised pork shoulder is as good as it gets in Franconia. Definitely recommended.
