I stayed here for 10 days while I looked for apartments in Bremen. A very long 10 days…read more The hostel owner and her husband were very nice and sweet people; she spoke multiple languages and was always helpful to foreigners. The hostel itself was immaculately clean, if a little uncomfortable (the bed springs squeak with every movement). Actually the beds were just uncomfortable, with thin mattresses and thin blankets. The bathroom/toilet was clean but very basic and no-frills. The WiFi was free but the signal was too weak to work in the rooms, so you could only use it in the kitchen or the common area. Then again it's a hostel, so you can't expect too much. It was very clean and very centrally located (A+ on location) 2 minutes away from the Central Station. The only problem is that it is on the 4th floor (5th floor for Americans), and the elevator only sporadically works- by request with advance notice, during business hours, and only for heavy luggage. As it happened, it wasn't available the evening I arrived with 85 lbs of luggage. There are 120 steps, I counted them all as I hefted my suitcases upstairs.

The room and bathrooms were very clean. There was also a kitchen which anyone could use, and they made free coffee in the morning!! I will probably repeat if I ever come back to Bremen.

The hotel give you a travel pass which is valid for the duration of your stay. We found this invaluable and got lots of milage from it. The breakfast is nice and is served in the restuarant. Keep your eyes peeled for the hot food. Its not obvious but its at the back tucked in the corner. The room was nice and the air conditioning was a godsend as it was really hot and muggy.
I personally really liked this hotel - the key factor being the proximity to the train station. The…read moredegree of convenience allowed great flexibility in my itinerary, a longer sleep-in before catching the train to other German cities, or simply, after a trip, to go back to my room and drop my bag off before heading out for a meal. The hotel itself was not bad, the room was nicely equipped, nice and soft bed and a decent TV. No bathtub in the bathroom, but this is not a big thing for me. The breakfast was nice, variety was fine but the key is replenishing the platters rather than running out of food during the morning! What's more, the provided the Bremen travel card for the period of my stay.
