Honestly, form outside did not seemed too much but because I send some of my clients over there to have dinner I thought that I should try it myself as well.... :D And boy, what a great place! I have many dining, many places, but this one we still talk about after few days! They have an open kitchen actually you can see what is going on there. The waiters were (there were a lady and a young boy there, can't remember their names.... sorry) super attentive. The chef gave a taste of a small mustard portion that he just created right there on the spot until we were waiting for the main course. And the main course....! Heavenly! Really! I am not easily impressed but this Norwegian fish that I ordered (I am not even a big fish eater...) was the highlight of my day! :) I will be back! That is for sure! After having been on the road for several weeks already and not always eating the best food throughout the day, I decided to treat myself to a vegetable-forward dinner. A quick internet research led me to this place and I made a reservation for one. I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact, this was the best meals I've had in a long time. What I loved most about this place is how they structured their menu: vegan and vegetarian dishes first and then - almost as an afterthought- come the meat dishes. Well done! We are on…read morea river cruise and were craving some authenic food instead of the normal fare of the cruise barge. We were so pleased to find this place next to the waterfront across the river from our barge, just a short walk away. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and cozy, to begin with. The young guys running the restaurant were charming and welcoming. They speak English, and have a very engaging way about them. Now the food: in a word, fantastic. My wife and I had the local fish, salmet, with black rice and perfectly cooked vegetables. Delicious. Others in our group had the Spargel with various meat selections, and they were also very pleased. The white asparagus, spargel, is in season now. The selection of desserts was off the charts delicious - we had the dessertvariation, which included a bit of all they offer for our group to share. I had more than my share (sorry guys...). They also have a good selection of wines and beer. The beer was excellent I am told, and the wines they suggested (a Grunber and a more full bodied red) both really fit the bill and were quite good. We all thought the cost of the meal was quite reasonable. Finishing with Plum Schnapps was a perfect cap to the evening. Just in time for a stroll through the fair by the river. So, if you happen to be in Linz, particualrly if your option is another large non-descript cruise passenger meal and if you would like to hang out with some actual Austrians and have something like an authentic local experience, this is the place for you.
