WARNING: **** PEMEX GAS AIRPORT BEWARE OF PEMEX GAS STATION AT THE AIRPORT LOCATION . This place deserves NO STARS Each time we come to this gas station we notice my husband always "forgets" his credit card. The first time we went 2 yrs ago we got to our connecting airport and went to eat lunch and my husband noticed he left his card somewhere so he placed a block on his card. The last place he filled up was at the Pemex at the airport. Every week this gas station tried to charge his card for transactions while we are at home in the US. We came to Cancun last year spring break and as we were gassing up the attendant gave us back our card. My husband looked at it and it wasn't his. The name was some yoga studio in Texas. We told the attendant he gave us the wrong card. He said no he didn't. Umm it's 5am and there's no one else here. Yes you did. He said no he didn't. We told him to give us our card back and he kept saying he didn't know what we were talking about. We fought him for about 20 min and we left because we had to catch our flight. Sure enough...that week as we are home Bank of America alerted us that we got charges from the gas station in Cancun. It continued for months! If you get gas here stand outside of your car and stand next to them and watch your card. Intimidate them and make sure they know you are watching. Traveled extensively throughout Mexico for over 40 years. The Mexican people as a whole are extremely friendly, hospitable and honest. Every time we went to fill up for gas at a Pemex in the Tulum/Playa area (EVERY TIME) they tried to rip us off. If you fill up with 800 pesos of gas, and give the attendant 2 500 peso bills, one of the 500 pesos bills will magically turn in to a 50 pesos bill. Pemex, this has gone on for years and you are complicit directly by taking a percentage or indirectly by enabling this practice. Shame. read more

Credit Card Fraud. I gave the attendant my credit card, he had a hand held POS. Card came back declined. Asked for Cash. Ended giving him $ 20, $ 17 for the gas and $ 3 tip. Was not sure if he gave me my card back. When I got home, luckily, I went online and checked my credit card expenses and detected 2 fraudulent charges. When I called by cc company I learned that my card got declined for even more transactions. BEWARE! Do not fuel up there. Seems they either scraped my cc info with the POS or did not return the card to me. read more

SCAMMERS- They will steal your cash and debit card after telling you your credit card is declining.

I paid a $29 charge with 2 $20 bills. The other attendant distracted me and starting complaining about his job/life. When I placed my attention back to the original attendant he showed me $21. He swapped out a $20 for a $1. When I left I realized that he had ripped me off, but by then I was at the airport and it was too late. Scammers, that's another reason why Cancún is dying, the hotel staff told me that hey usually get about 5000 guests during spring break, this year (2019) they only had 1500.
