There are a few pharmacies in Pukekohe, nothing like the big flash ones in the shopping malls but most of them are adequate.
However, I have often thought that Gary Logan Pharmacy could be better. The shop is nice and modern and airy. It is in a good central location and has two entrances, front and rear with customer parking. All good so far.
I love to browse when I shop and look at new things and I often buy bits and pieces for Christmas presents and birthday gifts etc in advance. However, whenever I enter Gary Logan pharmacy I am always accosted by the staff. As soon as I walk in the door, they are standing waiting to pounce! Help! They don't seem to like people looking around the shop. They always ask what I am wanting and will rush to get it.
Now I don't always want anything in particular - although sometimes I will take a prescription in there and last time I ventured in I thought I would see what moisturisers they had and would have liked to peruse the shelves to see what other stuff they had. Help! Perhaps they think they are providing exceptional service. Or maybe they view every shopper as a potential thief and feel they need to escort them around the shop.

Normally I would not venture in there because the male pharmacist who sometimes works in there is creepy, nosey, and asks too many personal questions. However I was pleasantly surprised that I was allowed to browse at leisure and found lots of stocking stuffers for Christmas. Nobody hassled me and I had a good look at the great range of stuff they had and spent about $90. Yay!
The pharmacy where I made my purchases could do with a spruce-up, it feels a bit olde worlde. But they have a good range of stock, the staff are not "on patrol" and they don't scare away the innocent customer who just wants to offload some cash, read more
